As Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit, members of the Norwegian royal family shared a few pictures on Instagram that let the public take a look inside their home, many noticed a framed photo of Prince William And Kate Middleton in the background.

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, most countries have imposed drastic restrictions on public life and advise everyone to stay at home in order to stop the virus from spreading. As royal families are no exception to this, the Norwegian royal family is social distancing as well.

For the time being Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit stay at Skaugum, their residence about 40 miles southwest of Oslo, where they’ve lived since December 2003. The property has been owned by the Norwegian royal family for many generations, therefore the Crown Prince’s parents, King Harald and Queen Sonja, also resided at Skaugum until 2001.

To be a good example to others, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit recently shared a few photos of them attending their business meetings from home via video call instead of leaving the house.

In posting these photos the Crown Prince and Princess gave the public a rare glimpse into Skaugum. Particularly attentive fans even spotted some familiar faces in the background. As one of the framed pictures on top of the family’s piano showed the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The photo has been in Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit's possession since the Cambridges’ last visit to Norway in February 2018. Back then Kate Middleton was in an advanced stage of pregnancy, as she was pregnant with their youngest son Prince Louis at the time.

During their visit, Kate and her husband Prince William accompanied the Norwegian royal family to multiple engagements and left the photo that also features their signatures as a gift. Now the photo is placed on the piano in the Skaugum office next to other framed pictures and books.
