Madonna is one of the world's most renowned musicians and certainly does not look her 62-years. However, she suffered some setbacks in the past two years as well as injures that required surgery. Ever youthful and gorgeous, her photographs from recovery after the surgery show that nothing can keep the star down. She is also not afraid to flaunt her scars and embraces her body as is. In the world of stardom and photoshop, it is great to see the real and raw peek through. These photographs from November 2020 show Madonna's recovery.

Injury and the following pain can be hard to deal with for the best of us, and for Madonna, who took a major fall in December 2019, the injury had a major impact on her body and life. She had to cancel her North American tour of the show Madame X after a maneuver of ascending a ladder went wrong and left the star in a lot of pain. In an Instagram video she uploaded in December 2019, she wrote in the caption,

"As I climbed the ladder to sing 'Batuka' on Saturday night in Miami I was in tears from the pain of my injuries, Which has been indescribable for the past few days," she captioned the clip on Instagram at the time. "With every song I sang, I said a prayer that I would make it to the next and get thru the show. My prayers were answered, And I made it."

Due to the pain, she had to cancel her tours and take time to recover. She elaborated in her post that while in the past she has chosen to "power through," this time she required rest to heal properly. "I consider myself a warrior I never quit, I never give in, I never give up!!" she continued. “However this time I have to listen to my body And accept that my pain is a warning I want to say how deeply sorry I am to all my fans. For having to cancel my last show."

She also updated her fans on her condition. "I spent the last two days with doctors Scans, ultra sounds, Xrays Poking and probing and more tears," she added in her Instagram caption. "They have made it very clear to me that if l am to continue my tour — I must rest for as long as possible so that I don’t inflict further and Irreversible damage to my body."

The pop star, known for her elaborate showmanship, knew when to put her health first, and does not regret taking a step back despite her strength. "I have never let an injury stop me from performing but this time i have to accept that there is no shame in being human and having to press the pause button,” she wrote. “I thank you all for your understanding, love and support." It most likely was not an easy decision, but one that has greatly benefited Madonna in regard to her health.

She uploaded another photo onto Instagram in November 2020 showing a scar on her right hip which revealed that she has gone through surgery to treat her injuries. Donning a black silk dress that she lifted up to her thigh, she captioned the photo by writing, "Madame ❌ is a survivor #newmoon #miracles." Madonna has certainly not shied away from making her scars public, and it looks as though she is embracing her body regardless of how it looks now.

In fact, Madonna is a star who is known for her youthfulness even as she ages. Currently 62, she certainly does not look her age. Not many stars continue to hold elaborate shows and perform musical tours at this age. WebMD reports that her dedication to a good diet and regular exercise has kept the star looking her best through the years. She told The Guardian in 2019 that her ambition has always driven her to become the best at what she does.

When she was interviewed in 1984, just as she was to become the incredible star she is today, she told Dick Clark that her ambition was "to rule the world." Speaking of that moment more than three decades later, Madonna said that her confidence was all a front. "I may have been insecure, I may have felt like a nobody, but I knew I had to do something. If I was going to make something out of my life, I had to, you know, hurl myself into the dark space, go down the road less traveled. Otherwise, why live?" she added.

Like many stars who are catapulted into fame in a short amount of time, Madonna was taken aback by the sheer volume of her stardom when she was younger. "It took my breath away. I can’t begin to tell you. I remember the first concert I did on the Virgin tour, in Seattle, when everything became big and I had no way of being prepared for it. It literally sucked the life out of me, sucked the air out of my lungs when I walked on stage. I sort of had an out-of-body experience. Not a bad feeling, not an out-of-control feeling, but an otherworldly feeling that nothing could prepare you for, I mean," she explained. Fame can be tricky to handle if you are not prepared for it, but Madonna has utilized it in the best way she could.

It is not easy to handle fame, and many stars either recede into the shadows, preferring to remain more private, or they embrace the spotlight and use it to their benefit so as to reach as many people as possible. Having influence of this sort is powerful, and Madonna has used her unique form of expression to give others inspiration to be who they are as well. One way she has done this recently is by embracing a persona; Madame X.

This persona has also been referenced quite often in her recent posts on social media. According to Madonna, Madame X is apparently "a secret agent, traveling around the world, bringing light to dark places, a spy in the house of love, curious, hungry for knowledge, wants to wake people up." Her album of the same name was released in 2019. Apart from her music, Madonna has also been known for her turbulent personal life.

She married Sean Penn in 1985, only for them to split four years later. In 2000, she married Guy Ritchie, a British director, and they had a son named Rocco John Ritchie, born in August 2000. Ritchie and Madonna split in 2008. Madonna also already had a daughter previously, Lourdes Maria Ciccone Leon who was born in 1996, with her personal trainer at the time, Carlos Leon.

She is currently romantically involved with Ahlamalik Williams, a 27-year-old dancer who is only two years older than Madonna's oldest child. Madonna and Williams have been dating since summer 2019. They first met during the Rebel Heart Tour in 2015, and he has been a part of her life ever since. According to IMDB, in 2016, he starred in two of her music videos and appeared in a documentary about the Rebel Heart Tour. This is not the first time that Madonna has been involved with someone so young. In 2012, she dated Brahim Zaibat, a 24-year-old dancer.

Her decision to be involved with the young dancer has not been approved by everyone in the musical and Hollywood fraternity, as the age gap is quite hard to look past for many and stars such as Wendy Williams have called her out on her decisions. For Madonna, however, age is but a number. Speaking to Billboard in 2012, she said about dating a younger man, "I didn't write down on a piece of paper, I'm now going to have a relationship with a younger man. You see, that's the romantic in me. I just met someone that I cared for. This happens to be his age, I don't want to live life on my own. I love being a mother, but I need a partner in life."

Madonna also has 6 children in total, and the singer's family consists of both biological and adopted children, making for a unique group. However, Madonna's choice to adopt left her with many challenges. In a 2017 interview with People, the world-renown pop star opened up on the difficulties of adopting her four younger children from Malawi, Africa, and the criticism she faced.

Madonna said in reference to her first adopted son, David Banda:

“Every newspaper said I kidnapped him. In my mind, I was thinking, ‘Wait a minute. I’m trying to save somebody’s life....' I did everything by the book. That was a real low point for me. I would cry myself to sleep.”

Despite the variety of struggles adoption posed, Madonna adopted four kids in total. After adopting David Banda in 2006, Madonna adopter Mercy James in 2009, and twin sisters Stella and Estere Ciccone in 2017.

Madonna's ambition and passion for her art have made her one of the most well-known musicians of our time. Speaking to The Guardian about her desire to rule the world more than three decades ago, she said, "When I said I wanted to rule the world, I didn’t say: ‘I want to be the most famous person in the world.’ I didn’t say: ‘I want to be the richest person in the world.’ I said I wanted to rule the world,” and added, “Well, what did I mean then, in my very young mind? I think I just meant I want to make a mark on the world, I want to be a somebody. Because I grew up feeling like a nobody, and I wanted to make a difference. I think that’s what I meant."

She has certainly made a difference with her music for many people over the last 30 years! We wish Madonna the best in her recovery.
