After rising to fame as Rachel Green on the hit television sitcom “Friends,” Jennifer Aniston has been one of the most beloved actresses to grace the world of entertainment. The role earned Aniston a handful of awards, and it’s clear that her career has only taken off since her breakthrough.

Between winning awards and constantly working, Jennifer made sure to keep some time available in her personal life. Although the actress had been in tumultuous relationships with her exes like Brad Pitt and Justin Theroux, Aniston went on to have a happy life and a very successful career in film and television.

Jennifer married Pitt in 2000 and broke up five years later. She went on to marry Theroux in 2015 but eventually divorced in 2015.

Despite this, Jennifer finally found some peace in her personal life over the years. She lives in a very “zen” filled home and has kept much of her private life out of the media aside from her previous relationships.

Unbeknownst to many, Jennifer had a rocky relationship with her father, actor John Aniston. In the past, the actress had been public about her past feelings towards her father; but later on, she learned how to heal those wounds and eventually came to be on good terms with him.

However, on Nov. 14, 2022, John passed away at the age of 89. The shocking news had everyone sending heartfelt condolences to the “The Good Girl” actress as she offered a very touching tribute to her father, which whom she shared a rather complicated relationship. Last December 2019, Jennifer posted a photo of herself and John – a throwback sepia-toned photo of her and his father when they were younger and an updated one.

“Christmas with one of my creators. Then and now #TBT Love you, papa,” she captioned the post

What people may not be aware of is that although the two are close once again, John once abandoned his daughter and didn’t see her for a year afterward.

While everything appears rosy and charming now, the road to this present state of grace was far from easy. John and Nancy Dow were living as a married couple from 1965 to 1980, which is when the “Days of Our Lives” star suddenly disappeared from Aniston’s life without warning.

As a grown-up, the actress candidly opened up regarding the pain of her family relationships during childhood.

Sadly, Aniston didn’t hear a thing from her absentee dad for about a year, and she openly described the time without him as numb and confusing; however, the man known best for playing Victor Kiriakis eventually reappeared out of the blue.

As “The Morning Show” producer explained, “He just called one day and said, ‘Let’s go see ‘The Fantasticks.’ So we had a little dinner and saw the show. After that, I started seeing him on weekends, and this new way of life just unfolded.”

Since then, the two have been on very good terms and relived the years that had passed by. In her most recent Instagram post, Jennifer commemorated the precious moments she had with her father, sharing with the world how much she loved her then-absentee father.

For those who don’t know Jennifer’s father, John was known to have played the well-loved Victor Kiriakis on the NBC daytime drama series “Days of Our Lives.” He started playing Kiriakis in 1985 and portrayed him for 37 years until his death recently.

Earlier this year, John received a Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award for the role, which was presented to him by Jennifer in an inspiring video tribute.

“This is truly a special moment for me,” she admitted. “It’s an opportunity to not only pay tribute to a true icon in the daytime television world, but it’s also a chance to recognize the lifelong achievements of a great and well-respected actor, who also happens to be my dad.”

Taking to Instagram to announce her father’s passing, Jennifer penned a touching message for his father, including a photo carousel of him and their photos together since she was a kid.

“Sweet papa…⁣ John Anthony Aniston. You were one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew. I am so grateful that you went soaring into the heavens in peace - and without pain,” she wrote. “And on 11/11 no less! You always had perfect timing. That number will forever hold an even greater meaning for me now. I’ll love you till the end of time.⁣ Don’t forget to visit.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the soap opera veteran passed away last Nov. 11, 2022. Up until now, John’s cause of death was not yet publicized as Jennifer did not also provide any more details about that on her Instagram post.
