Flight Attendant Loses Her Cool And Steps In To Defend Her Co-Worker Who Cried Because Of A Passenger

People working normally, no matter what job they hold, should be respected at all times as they do their best to provide great service to customers. Unfortunately, this is not always the case because some feel entitled just because they have a higher status than those in the working class.

Such a case happened to a flight attendant who reportedly got disrespected, so one of her co-workers stepped in to defend her good friend.

According to a post shared by a user named Tarun Shukla on Dec. 21, 2022, a crew member and a passenger of IndiGo Airlines bound for Delhi, India, had an argument on board.

“My crew is crying because of you,” the woman told the passenger, then added, “please understand there’s a card, they’re accounted.”

The man interrupted her and shouted, “why are you yelling?” to which the crew member replied, “because you are yelling at us… I am sorry sir, but you cannot talk to the crew like that, I am peacefully listening to you with all due respect, but you have to respect the crew as well.”

The man later asked how disrespectful he was, to which the woman explained that he was yelling and pointing his finger.

“Shut up!” the man said, cutting the crew member mid-sentence. The woman appeared to have had enough, and she became enraged by the disrespect of the passenger.

“I’m sorry, you cannot talk to me like that!... I’m an employee, not your servant!” she added.

In the end, another female employee de-escalated the situation by taking the woman away from the man.

The user who posted on social media, who is an award-winning journalist, said he was able to get a statement from IndieGo following the incident.

The airline company gave more context as to what truly transpired that day, as they wrote, “The issue was related to meals chosen by certain passengers traveling via a codeshare connection.”

They added at the time, “We are looking into the incident and would like to assure that customers’ comfort has always been our top priority.”

Millions of people viewed the post, and the cabin crew received countless praises from online users on the social media platform.

“I AM AN EMPLOYEE AND I AM NOT YOUR SERVANT. This line should be the line of the year by an employee. Give this lady an award @IndiGo6E . The increase in competition is giving customers feel that they owe us,” one replied.

“Hope @IndiGo6E does not reprimand the crew here. Some passengers are obnoxious and it must have taken a lot for her to break down like this. She stood up for her fellow crew and she deserves only praise!” one wrote.

Not everyone had the same sentiments as other users, as they noted that the flight attendant shouldn’t have had an argument and shouted at the man in the first place.

“You cannot shout in a customer care relationship. Sad but this is truth. You have to maintain your cool even when you are yelled at,” one wrote.

“she is screaming and it’s unacceptable. Period. No more justification,” another one agreed.
