Bride Exposes Fiancé By Reading His Affair Texts Instead Of Her Vows In Front Of Everyone At Their Wedding

Imagine getting married to the love of your life. The day has finally come after months of planning, and you’re wearing your wedding dress at the altar. However, things are completely different than any other traditional ceremony as you've decided to read your husband’s text messages as your vows.

This story was published by Body + Soul in August 2020. It began with a woman named Casey, who was excited to get married to her fiancé Alex. They had been together for six years and for her, he was the one.

However, she found out that her soon-to-be-husband was cheating on her, and she discovered it through an anonymous text. 

Casey said she was wearing her wedding dress when she glanced at her friends and family in front of her who all had smiles on their faces and were excited for her to tie the knot.

“I knew it was the end of my dream relationship and everyone was going to witness it,” she added.

Casey recalled that she received the message the night before the wedding when she and her best friends were hanging out in a “glitzy hotel room.”

Instead of receiving a text that wished her luck or congratulated her on her wedding, it contained a series of screenshots from an unfamiliar number.

Aside from the images, there was a message that read: “I wouldn’t marry him. Will you?”

The screenshots included her fiancé’s conversation with another woman, and there were also selfies of them. She recalled the unknown woman as being the opposite of her as she had blonde hair and fair skin, while the other woman had dark hair and an olive complexion.

Casey was shocked because some of the messages were dated months and even days before her wedding, and she couldn’t fathom what she was reading.

“Every word like a dagger in my heart and my wedding was only hours away. How could I cancel when everyone had already travelled to be there and everything was paid for?” she said.

All of her friends were livid as they were threatening all sorts of “violence” against him. They advised the bride-to-be to call Alex and call the wedding off, but she was too shocked and sad to be angry, so she opted not to contact him.

The woman decided to continue the wedding, and at the ceremony, she started walking down the aisle while wearing her dream dress.

“I arrived at the front of the room, took a big breath and I faced our friends, our parents and I told them the truth about Alex,” she recalled.

She told the crowd that the man she loved was not who she thought he was. The crowd was surprised about the revelation, and the groom attempted to grab her hand, but as she put down her bouquet, she revealed the phone in her hand where she read each message that she received from the anonymous number.

Alex, too, was stunned by what happened and didn’t utter a single word. Instead, he left the venue as his best man followed him. His family was also “horrified.”

She later faced the guests and told them there would be no reception but rather a celebration of “honesty, finding true love and following your heart even when it hurts.”
