Airline Introduces ‘Only Adult’ Section To Give Child-Free Travelers A Serene Atmosphere

One of the disadvantages of flying is dealing with the possibility of traveling with kids who throw tantrums. Whenever this occurs, it often creates an uncomfortable atmosphere for other passengers, and many have attested to it. Some travelers even share opinions about airlines having a child-free section in their airplanes so that they can enjoy their flights better. A Turkish-Dutch airline company identified as Corendon Airlines has added an adults-only section to their seating options.

On Aug. 23, 2023, the Turkish daughter company of the originally Dutch airline announced that the showrunners added an adults-only option on board their flights. This option attracts extra fees, but it's for people who dislike sharing their space with children while flying in case of disruption. The new option has been met with a lot of reviews and comments from the public.

People who like to travel by air have been clamoring for airlines to introduce a child-free section in airplanes. In the same year, there was a clip of a toddler who disrupted the sleep of other passengers in a plane because she was wearing a glow-in-the-dark flashing rabbit onesie and got people talking. Several people were put off by the act and started calling for child-free sections in airplanes.

Per Joe, there was also another instance of a woman in 2022 who posted a clip of her experience on a flight. The woman shared that she was disturbed by a kid who screamed throughout her three-hour flight. The woman had called on airlines to provide child-free flights and was willing to pay any amount for that.

It is safe to say that people who have been complaining about children disturbing on planes do not have to worry anymore as an airline has answered their calls.

Turkish airline Corendon Airlines added an A350 adults-only seating zone to their flights.

This adults-only program is for those who are 16 years of age and above. The airline described the flight as intended for travelers without children and business travelers who want to work in a serene environment. The airline also argued that parents with children will enjoy this package as they do not have to worry about their kids disturbing other passengers.

The way the concept works is that the forward cabin on the A350-900 between doors one and two will be assigned as the adult seating area. The space consists of a total of 102 seats, which includes nine extra legroom seats and 93 standard seats.

The adults-only area attracts extra fees. The cost for the adult zone in a standard seat is €45 one way (about $49), and for the adult zone in the extra legroom costs €100 one way (about $109). The upcoming Airbus A350 transatlantic flight is between Amsterdam and Curaçao.

According to Corendon Airlines founder Atilay Uslu, the airline tries to respond to their customers' various and distinct needs, which is why the new initiative has been introduced. He explained:

“We are also the first Dutch airline to introduce the Only Adult zone because we cater trying to appeal to travelers looking for some extra peace of mind during their flight…”

Corendon Airlines kicks off its adults-only initiative in November 2023. This is a nice innovation, and one can only hope other airlines will take this up as it would make flying better.
