Zendaya Channels Halle Berry & Gets The Sweetest Reaction From The ‘Bond’ Star

Zendaya may have been one of the biggest stars on the 2026 Emmy Awards red carpet, but her glamorous look came with a little help from a Hollywood icon.
The “Euphoria” star, 30, turned heads at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards on Sept. 14, 2026, in a custom silver Prada gown covered in shimmering sequins and embellishments. The floor-length design featured sheer white detailing around the plunging neckline and a delicate mini train, which she paired with Mikimoto diamond jewelry and a Rolex watch.
But it was Zendaya’s dramatic new pixie cut that made the connection to Halle Berry especially clear.
Styled by Coree Moreno, Zendaya’s short hair was worn with texture and lift, giving the classic cropped style a fresh, editorial twist. Moreno described the inspiration as a classic pixie “reimagined through a modern, editorial lens,” while stylist Law Roach confirmed that Berry was the inspiration behind the look.
“I love when a pixie doesn’t feel overly “done” — a little undone, a little polished, and full of movement from every angle. ✨,” Moreno wrote about the hairstyle on Instagram.
Meanwhile, Roach boasted it was only “Diamonds and pearls for my girl,” alongside a video of himself arranging the gown’s train on the red carpet.
And the resemblance wasn’t accidental.
Zendaya’s shimmering gown and short hairstyle echoed one of Berry’s most memorable red carpet appearances: the actress’ 2002 premiere look for “Die Another Day.” Berry attended the premiere in a sparkling, sheer Collette Dinnigan minidress while sporting her own signature pixie cut. More than two decades later, Zendaya transformed those recognizable elements into a decidedly 2026 version.
Roach even shared a side-by-side comparison of the two stars, making the homage impossible to miss.
Berry herself was quick to notice — and she clearly approved.

The Oscar winner shared Roach’s post to her Instagram Stories, adding an animated heart beneath the photos of herself and Zendaya. She also reposted an interview in which Roach confirmed that Berry had inspired Zendaya’s Emmys appearance.
“She murdered the night,” Berry wrote of Zendaya’s red carpet moment.
Berry’s reaction didn’t stop there. She also shared a clip from “The Drew Barrymore Show” in which she discussed the possibility of playing Zendaya’s mother someday, adding another sweet layer to the mutual admiration between the actresses.
The connection between the two stars goes back several years. During a 2021 virtual panel, Berry praised Zendaya as a “walking embodiment” of the changing landscape for Black women in Hollywood, calling her success proof that things were changing in the industry.
For Zendaya, the Emmys look was also a major style moment in its own right. The actress was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for the final season of “Euphoria,” marking her third nomination in the category after previously winning in 2020 and 2022. She also presented the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series during the ceremony.
With her sparkling Prada gown, striking new haircut and a little inspiration from one of Hollywood’s most enduring style icons, Zendaya managed to make the past feel entirely new.
And judging by Berry’s reaction, the original icon was more than happy to see her look get a second life.
