Young Woman Performs "I Will Always Love You" Like Never Before And All The Judges Have Goosebumps

It would be utterly terrifying to sing in front of both accomplished singers and a global audience, especially when that song stirs up a lot of emotions within the singer.

Yet that is exactly what Maddison McNamara came up against when performing a "blind" audition for the judges of the Australian version of the hit show The Voice.

On top of everything else, this was Maddison's second appearance on the show after she was eliminated on her first appearance in 2016. However, this time she performed with something that propelled her singing: emotion.

When the visibly-emotional Maddison took the stage, she proceeded to sing "I Will Always Love You." While the song originated in 1974 from famous country singer Dolly Parton, Maddison based her rendition on the late Whitney Houston's now-iconic cover.

Maddison, who was cheered on by her loved one who sang along with her, had no music to back her lyrics. Throughout the performance, she becomes visibly emotional. Not only was the performance meant to help her win a spot on the show -- it represented something bigger.

The performance was a tribute to a close friend who encouraged Maddison and pushed her to pursue her craft. This friend tragically took his own life. In an interview before the audition, Madison admitted that his death put her "in a hole for a while," but it was through music that she picked herself up.

This was felt by the judges, which included Boy George, Delta Goodrem, and Destiny's Child star Kelly Rowland. As Maddison belted out her heart-feflt lyrics, George and Goodrem put their hands over their hearts, while Rowland couldn't contain the love she had for Maddison's performance.

Rowland felt the emotion in the song, and was seen encouraging Maddison as she sang by saying "Come on, baby." When she delivered the song's big note, all the judges spun in their chairs.

While all the judges loved Maddison's performance, it was Boy George who chose her for his team. Despite whatever might happen on the show, she proved that she had the talent and the soul to help her enjoy a long, fruitful career as a singer.
