If you have any experience with goats, then you probably know that they are superior climbers; however, few people know what a good climber really is unless they’ve met the Alpine ibex goats. These ibex are super climbing geniuses that live in the mountains of the European Alps. This mother and daughter pair show just how talented they really are by climbing a nearly vertical slope

The Cingino dam is one area that looks like it would be impossible to scale – until you notice the goats bravely climbing up the side of it. During the spring months, the Alpine ibex goats can be seen scaling the impossibly steep dam with ease. The only ibex spotted at the Cingino dam are females with their babies.

Male ibex are not observed to be climbing the gasp-inducing slopes very likely due to their weight, center of balance, and large horns being unsuited towards such a feat, says Water Power & Dam Construction

The dam, which is made of concrete, is the perfect place to find the much-needed minerals, the BBC reports. The goats choose to climb this dam and lick it so that they can get the nutrients needed to invigorate their bodies. This is especially important for mothers feeding their young. While the wall looks horrifying to climb, no goats have been seen falling off the wall so far. They use very small footholds in the wall to make their ascent up the dam wall. The little baby goats may find it difficult at first, but their mothers help them learn how to climb and they quickly become experts.

Is it hard to picture the goats climbing the dam wall? You’re in luck – you can watch the video clip to see it for yourself. It truly is an awe-inspiring thing to see and will probably leave your speechless! Have you ever seen a goat with more impressive climbing skills? Invite your friends to watch this video as well and amaze them with the talents of these animals.
