This girl was not prepared for what she'd find.

We’re all heard about how dangerous alligators can be when they’re around humans. Although many of us don’t live in areas where alligators live in nature, it can be a reality for some people to find alligators a little too close to home. For one little girl, she got the shock of a lifetime when she went out on a mission to look for her missing cat.

Hannah Siler, a twelve-year-old girl, lives in Mississippi and decided to check the storm drain in front of her house to see if her loose cat had gotten into it. As Hannah glanced down the drain, she got excited when she saw two eyes glaring back. However, she soon realized that these were not the eyes of her cat, but rather of a seven-foot-long alligator that had gotten stuck in the sewer system!

Hannah began screaming out of shock and fright, and her neighbors heard her cries. The neighbor came running out of their home to see if Hannah was okay, but upon seeing the alligator in the sewer themselves, they were just as shocked as the little girl! Animal control was called quickly to handle the situation, and when two officers came to the scene to investigate, they were unsure about how to handle the situation.

They tried to trap the alligator to retrieve it from the sewer, but the alligator was so long that they needed to call in back up for some extra help. Professional trappers arrived on the scene and were able to finally remove the alligator, but not without a fight!

A student from Mississippi Community College managed to capture the entire scene on camera for all to witness this incredible sight! You can see the alligator fighting against the trappers, wriggling around and biting with its enormous jaw. However, the alligator was eventually rescued without harm and was taken out of the sewer.

Professionals believe that this situation is extremely rare, and it’s unusual for a seven-foot-long alligator to be able to find itself in such a predicament in a small area. However, everyone is thankful that Hannah found the alligator because it most likely would have died in the sewer without assistance.
