Traditionally-speaking, we’re used to men getting down on one knee and proposing to their girlfriends. However, this isn’t always the way things work! A new viral video is showing an adorable Filipina woman who decided that it was time to guide the relationship forward and made the big move herself.

This sweet girl was so proud of her choice to pop the question to her boyfriend that she did it in front of their families and loved ones, making the moment even that much sweeter. Although the video is very short, it shows some very powerful emotions.

The couple, boyfriend Ulvic Berdecen and girlfriend Cheska Galves have been seeing each other for about a year. While some need more time to make up their minds about who they want to be with forever, Cheska seems to have no hesitation as she moves forward with this amazing proposal.

Cheska started by inviting her boyfriend’s entire family out to eat at a restaurant. While the family had no idea what was going to happen, they were stunned when music started playing nearby, setting the atmosphere with a romantic song. Some restaurant workers came forward with a bouquet of red roses that they then presented to Ulvic.

Cheska, who had been hiding in the back, finally came forward with a flower of her own and some friends in tow. The friends held up a sign that read “Will you marry me?” right as Cheska presented her boyfriend with a ring.

If Cheska had any uncertainty about her boyfriend’s reception of the engagement, she didn’t have to worry for long. Ulvic was quick to say yes and happy to snap some photographs with the ring on his finger.

Ulvic’s brother, Stephen, was thrilled to upload the video for the world to see and equally proud to announce that his country is open to non-traditional methods of proposing. He captioned the video with: "Who says only man can propose? I’m proud that the Philippines screams equality"
