It seems like the contestants on American Idol are getting more and more talented each year. Not only are they overcoming life’s barriers and working their way to eventual stardom, but many of the performers are exceptionally young and already demonstrating greater singing abilities than previous winners.

This isn’t said lightly because popular singers like Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson are definitely a force to be reckoned with. But 18-year-old Gabby Barrett is making a name for herself, and is, dare we say it, even BETTER than the current Idol stars.

The Munhall, Pennsylvania native is not held back by genre. Gabby has proven that she can sing pop, country, ballads, and rock. She could probably even rap if she tried hard enough!
 

Judge Katy Perry commended Gabby for having a nice mix of the girl-next-door country look and an incredibly strong singing voice.

Having earned her spot in the top 10 with her rendition of Miley Cyrus’ hit single “The Climb,” Gabby’s cute look and stage presence is surely helping her along in her successful journey to being named the season 16 American Idol winner.
 

But Gabby’s latest performance is causing excitement among Idol fans, and it’s clear why! She performed “Little Red Wagon,” a beloved Miranda Lambert classic, and some are saying that it is even better than the original.
