You’ll Be In Tears Hearing Parrot Singing ‘Margaritaville’

We all love seeing animals perform amazing feats such as creating a unique painting or mastering a difficult trick. Parrots seem to take center stage among these animals with their ability to mimic language. Henry, an Amazonian parrot is one such mimic, with the amazing talent of performing a hilarious rendition of the song Margaritaville by Jimmy Buffet.

While sitting in his own bird playground, Henry suddenly has the urge to burst out singing the lyrics Margaritaville in a voice similar to that of an intoxicated grandfather. During this process, he becomes slightly distracted and pauses, but his helpful owner pipes in and tells him the next few lyrics.

Henry remembers where he is and then sings the song to its very end, finishing with his final mic drop on the line, "But, I know. It's my own damn fault."

This hilarious rendition has gone viral on the internet, reaching approximately over a million users. If all goes well, Henry could have a future singing career, or might even consider opening his own bar (joking, of course).

Margaritaville was released in February 1977 by hit sensation, Jimmy Buffet. Named after a popular cocktail, this single became a hit after Buffet's release of his album, Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes. Although the title of the song does not give the appropriate context to what the song is about, Margaritaville is in fact, a love song. A majority of the lyrics, however, talk about a calm lifestyle in the tropics as a man reminisces on past memories and his sorrows.

The lyrics tell the story of a lost romance and end with Henry's favorite line, "But I know, it's my own damn fault."

The popularity and success of the song have made it Jimmy Buffet's highest-charting single to this day. The lyrics and story of the song have even inspired a Broadway musical. People have been creating their own renditions of Jimmy Buffet's hit single since 1977 and continue to do so. The singer himself also continues to perform the song live and even invites celebrity guests on stage to help sing.
