About eight weeks ago, Martine was given some shocking news. She was diagnosed with a type of deadly cancer known as stage 4 spinal glioblastoma. Martine first realized something was wrong when she lost feeling in both of her legs but believed it was due to a pinched nerve. She had also been dealing with severe back pains for months beforehand; however, doctors diagnosed her with muscle spasms only.

At the end of August, Martine flew out to Benidorm, where things got progressively worse. She ended up cutting her trip short when she lost the feeling in both of her legs. She was finally given scans on her spine where a huge tumor was revealed. The tumor was crushing down on her spinal cord, causing the loss of feeling and severe back pain.

It took just four weeks for Martine’s condition to worsen. By then, she had become wheelchair-bound, as her legs had become paralyzed. She was given a diagnosis of two years to live by doctors.

Christopher and Martine had been a couple for 12 years at this point and had been engaged for the past few years. They also have two children together. Now, the motivation to get married was there.

After hearing the diagnosis they knew that it was time to get married while they still could.

Martine stated that planning the wedding in the small amount of time they had was hectic, but she had always wanted to marry Christopher so it was well worth the trouble. All in all, it took them four weeks to plan their wedding day.

Christopher had an amazing surprise for his new wife during the reception that took everyone by surprise. As their song by Aerosmith started to play, “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing," Christopher lifted Martine right out of her wheelchair so that she could dance with him.

Martine said that is was an amazing surprise to her, as he had not told her that he was planning on picking her up out of her chair. She said that while it was a struggle at first after he picked her up they enjoyed their very first dance together. She said that family and friends were crying all around them. It was an emotional day for her, but she loved every single second of it.

Even though she is paralyzed from her waist down, her new husband managed to give her their very first dance together.

If this video made you smile, make sure you show it to your friends and family so they can watch it too :)
