You're up for baking but you just can't find the right supplies in your kitchen?

Most people have been in that situation. You really feel like baking, nibbling on the dough, kneading the warm, moist cake base, sniffing the wonderful scent in your apartment - but you can't find the right ingredients to bake! Flour, sugar, baking powder, yeast, eggs, chocolate coating, jam, nuts, oil, fruits, etc. Most recipes contain so many ingredients that you can't even come close to getting a cake out of what you already have at home. You know what we're talking about, right? You're not alone with that!

If there's not much to find in your kitchen today, then that shouldn't be a problem, because you only need two things for this recipe, which you will certainly always have at home!

Wait, that's all?

- 1 1/2 cups chocolate spread
- 4 eggs

And this is how you bake the chocolate cake:

1. Beat the eggs until they're foamy. You can do this with a whisk or a mixer. If you use a mixer, then reduce the mixer speed to low and take your time. The cream will turn out much better if you mix it with patience. So your cake becomes a fluffy delicacy.

2. Melt the chocolate spread in a water bath. It is very important that the water is hot, but not boiling! Boiling water can easily bubble up too much and get into the chocolate spread, which in turn makes it lumpy and unappealing. It's better to use a large bowl and let it sit on top of a pot with hot water.

Alternatively, you could also melt the spread in your microwave. But again, you should proceed slowly and choose a low level. If the spread heats up too fast or too much, it could burn or bubble up, which in turn would make a mess in your microwave!

3. Fold in the chocolate with the eggs. But be careful and don't go too fast, otherwise, your cake won't turn out as fluffy! Also, the cream should be warm, not hot, otherwise the egg mass could solidify and cause unpleasant flakes that affect the consistency of the dough.

4. Line a baking dish with baking paper. Make sure that there is no way the dough could run out. Your baking dish can be any shape you like. Choose any kind of baking dish, line it with baking paper and carefully add the dough. Spread it out until everything is smooth, so it will cook evenly.

Put the cake in oven and bake it at 320° F for 20 minutes.

5. Take the cake out of the oven, place it on a suitable surface and let it cool down. When the cake is lukewarm and no longer hot, you can carefully remove it from the baking dish. Be careful, or it might break! You can also use a kitchen spatula to make it easier.

6. Cut the cake into pieces and serve it to your guests and yourself.

Enjoy a coffee, cappuccino or a glass of milk with it!

7. If you want to decorate your cake or spice it up a bit, you can add whipped cream, fruits, a bit of jam or syrup - or maybe even a hint of cinnamon! If you like it, you could also soak the dough with a few drops of liqueur or schnapps.
