Faith was dressed in black as she entered the room. Her greeting was a reminder that the funeral was meant to be a celebration of Aretha Franklin's life as much as it was a mourning of her death. She then broke into a rendition of "What a Friend We Have in Jesus."

Behind Faith Hill, Hillary Rodham Clinton and former President Bill Clinton were seated. They were also near Reverend Al Sharpton, along with Reverend Jesse Jackson. As Faith belted the hymn with everything she had in her, the crowd was lifted to their feet.

Faith has spoken about the connection she had to Aretha after the woman's passing. She shared a photo of both of them together on Instagram, along with a touching tribute. She said that Aretha Franklin was now in heaven, which meant the angels finally had the greatest voice ever heard available to lead.

There were other performers at the funeral to celebrate Aretha, including Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Yolanda Adams, Jennifer Hudson, Chaka Khan, Stevie Wonder, and Ariana Grande.
