WW II Pilot And Retired Colonel Rings In 100th Birthday

Jack Koser an army veteran who fought in World War 2, just celebrated his 100th birthday. In addition to his long life, the former Army Air Corps pilot possesses a long list of accomplishments for his part in the war.

"I flew 23 missions against Japan," as he told Fox 13 News. "I could hear the rumblings of war." Koser flew a B-29 with the 6th Bomb Group, 39th Bombardment Group and the 313th Bombardment Wing of the 20th Air Force.

As he recalls his flights Koser told Fox 13 News, "Some of them were easy. Some of them were tough." Even after the war, Koser continued to serve the U.S.for 24 years. Koser also served as President Harry Truman's personal aide at the Post War Pentagon where he then retired as a colonel. 

"I loved the Air Force. I loved flying," Koser said of his time in the air force. Even as he turns 100, Koser says, "I feel good." He hopes to live to 102-years-old.
