Currently, in America, there is a polar vortex that has trapped most of the Midwest in its icy embrace. Entire forests have been frozen, and people are experiencing the most frigid temperatures of their lives. In fact, many of the younger crowd (25 years and younger) are saying that this winter is the coldest that they've ever experienced. Because of the cold temperatures and the onslaught of snow, many schools have canceled their classes

Frigid Temperatures

This has prompted many students to stay at home. While a spare few may be using the time to work on homework, most are typically relaxing and taking the opportunity to play video games, read, watch television, and even brave the weather to hang out with friends. However, not all of the students had decided to use their off-time for self-interested pursuits.

Previously reported by TMZ, one sports team from a Wisconsin actually spent their snow day plowing driveways in the area. The wrestling team from Lomira High School banded together and decided that they were going to give back to the community instead.

Together, with military precision, they lined up on their targeted driveways and began to plow. By lining themselves up side-by-side, they were able to quickly remove the snow from the driveway and head onto their next target. This sure beats the kids who decided to stay in and play video games all day.

Besides just the impressive feat of showing such selfless charity, the wrestling team also impressed with how quickly they were able to plow the driveways. Footage shows only a few seconds of the team at work, but you can be sure that it took them little time to finish each driveway with the strategies they were using.

Besides just lining up with one another, they also began to cut across the driveway. They cut each driveway into rectangular lines that allowed each of them to quickly remove the snow with expert precision.

Recognizing their selfless act of charity, the Lomira Booster Club posted pictures of the boys at work on their Facebook page and praised them for the work they had performed. The boosters congratulated and thanked them in a warm message.

"We are so incredibly proud of our Lomira High School Wrestling team for spending their day off of school AGAIN helping others with snow removal! Thank you to all of them and also a huge shout out to Jamie Feucht (our Booster Club President) for organizing and working alongside the boys."

Send this to those who could use a little cheer on their chilly day and let us know what you think about this selfless act of charity! Would you brave the temperatures to help your community?
