Workers Find A 71-Year-Old Wallet In A Theater, Look Inside With Discovery Making Their Eyes Pop

The movie theater in Nevada, Iowa was the hottest attraction for teens in the small town during the 1940s. The theater played the latest movies in black and white and would even attract people from neighboring towns and communities. Droves of teens would travel to the theater on weekend nights.
Clare McIntire was a resident of a neighbouring town and often made trips to the theatre. An event took place at the theatre Clare forgot about entirely until he was recently reminded of the matter. The theatre operated for decades before the building began to show the effects of time.
The building was abandoned for a while before Larry Sloan, a local entrepreneur, purchased it. The building, which was originally built in the 1920s, was in need of significant repairs to get it up and running again.

Larry wanted to convert the old theatre into an establishment that would showcase live comedy performances. He worked closely alongside workers to make the many repairs that were necessary.
A work crew was on the third story of the building when they pulled up the floor to reveal quite a surprise. The workers discovered a plastic wallet that was brown in colour. The men cautiously reached for the wallet. They did not want to disturb it more than was necessary or knock it off the ledge it rested on.
Larry opened the wallet. He discovered an identification card for a 15-year-old boy. The name of the boy was Clare McIntosh. Larry once worked as an investigator and could not resist the temptation to further inspect the wallet.
Larry found a number of interesting things in the wallet. There were faded photos. An antiquated calendar from the year 1944. There were rations stamps from World War II and an identification card filled out by hand. Larry's next thought was he had to return it to the owner. There was a contact number on the ID card but it had only a single digit: eight.
Larry put his past training as an investigator to use and discovered Clare still lived in the area. He was able to return the wallet to the man, and the two of them shared a great time on video.
