Wanda Ferrari and her dog Zorra had bonded as she helped her canine friend, who is paralyzed, experience a better life while the dog returned the favor by helping Ferrari get through her battle with breast cancer. But they were horribly ripped apart on Andrews Avenue in Oakland Park, Florida.

Ferrari needed to rush into a Dollar Tree in a shopping center and, considering that the temperatures were in the 80s, she made sure to leave the car running with the air conditioning on while she was gone. However, somebody took that as an invite to steal Ferrari's car with poor Zorra inside of it.

Zorra, who is a Shepherd-Husky mix, is confined to a wheelchair. The Broward County Sheriff's Office and Abandoned Dogs of the Everglades have both provided their help; the latter group has also hired a pet detective. Tragically, Zorra was found dead in the car.

“You try to hold out. She was a special girl," said her owner to CBS.

There is a $3,000 reward being offered to anyone who has information on who stole the car and the dog according to the animal rescue group on Facebook. Call 1-877-506-8100 if you have info on Zorra or the stolen car.

Be sure to tell your friends about this story to bring the criminals to justice, especially if they live in Florida.
