As people get older, it's normal for their mind and body to change. Sadly many health complications also tend to begin as people continue to age. This can be hard for both the person struggling with their deteriorating frame of mind and body, as well as their loved ones who only want to care for them.

Some people develop Alzheimer's or dementia later in life. According to the World Health Organization, there are currently more than 55 million people living with dementia worldwide, and there are about 10 million new cases every year. Stephanie Martin's mother is one of those people.

Martin's mother had been diagnosed with dementia a few years ago and knew that her memory was sadly fading away. Martin decided that she wanted to do something special for her mother and help her continue to live the rest of her life to the absolute fullest. Her goal was to help her mother live out some of her wildest dreams by taking her on the trip of a lifetime with the hopes that the elderly woman would be able to thoroughly enjoy the new experiences.

In September 2021, Martin shared a heartwarming video on her Instagram account, showing just how much her mother was enjoying every moment of life, especially the new ones that she was getting to experience for the first time all thanks to Martin herself. The video has gone on to be seen by people from all over the world who have been incredibly moved by the generosity and kindness Martin has shown. Sharing New Experiences Together

In her Instagram post from Sept. 19, 2021, Martin shared that her mother was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia a few years ago. According to Mayo Clinic, frontotemporal dementia is an umbrella term for a group of brain disorders that affect both the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain that are typically associated with personality, behavior and language. This means that people who are diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia can sometimes have changes in their personalities or lose the ability to use language properly.

In her Instagram post, Martin explained that the doctors said her mother had about six to eight more years before she would completely forget who her family was. Wanting to make sure that they cherished every moment together, Martin decided to take her mother on the journey of her dreams. She said, "She always wanted to see the Cliffs of Moher, so I got her on a jet plane and made it happen."

Martin's post contained a video that she described as her "favorite moment" from their 10-day trip around Ireland. Her mother could not stop crying as she marveled at the beauty around her that she was grateful enough to share with her family. It was clear that Martin's mother was going to hold onto the memory as long as she could.

The video has since been seen 19.8 million times and has garnered 1 million comments. One person said, "This is so sweet! I am sure this was one of the most special moments of her life." Another person said, "You are the sweetest soul! This makes me want to cry! Time truly is the most precious thing on this planet."
