The competition series “America’s Got Talent” returned to television with its latest season on June 1, 2021. The first round of auditions already showcased a bunch of talented acts, and the second round that aired on June 8, 2021, did not disappoint. One woman, in particular, has seemingly done the impossible and managed to impress judge Simon Cowell, who was absent for the second half of the last season due to a serious back injury.

The woman, who is named Jane Marczewski, sings under the name Nightbirde and has been through a lot in her life; she turned to music to help her cope with all of the challenges she’s faced over the years. A fighter, Marczewski courageously opened up to the judges about her battle with cancer and put her thoughts into a personal song that she wrote herself.

Her emotional performance instantly captivated everyone in the room. She was incredibly brave and heartfelt with her raw talent, and the judges absolutely adored her. The judges on “America’s Got Talent” for this season include Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Sofia Vergara. Each judge brings something different to the table with their bold and unique personalities and judging styles.

While Cowell has been known for his harsh words and overall blunt demeanor, Marczewski's song touched his heart. She proved to be just as strong with her performance as she has been in her own life, and the young woman stunned the judges with her gorgeous vocals and heartfelt song. Cowell was so moved that he awarded the act Nightbirde with a golden buzzer.

This season of “America’s Got Talent” has already brought in a handful of talented acts who have been able to showcase their skills in the audition rounds of the show. Some of these talents include singing, dancing, magic tricks and anything else you could possibly think of. Mandel has already used his golden buzzer on a nurse choir who wowed the judges with an inspiring musical performance.

One goal that every act hopes to achieve during this first round of the competition is to get enough judges to say yes to them, allowing them to carry on into the next round of auditions. The ultimate goal is to win a golden buzzer from a judge, which instantly catapults the act into the live show round of the competition series, bringing them one step closer to winning the prize of $1 million.

Jane Marczewski, whose stage name is Nightbirde, decided to audition for the show with an original song, something that most musical acts don’t do as it can be incredibly risky. She has proven to be absolutely fearless, as she has had many personal struggles to overcome. Before her audition started, Marczewski revealed that she had been diagnosed with cancer and was fighting it in several places in her body. “Last time I checked I had some cancer in my lungs, my spine and my liver,” she explained.

"I have a two percent chance of survival but two percent is not zero percent," she added.

The upcoming songstress stayed optimistic and got ready to wow the judges with her song. “It’s important that everyone knows I’m so much more than the bad things that happen to me,” Marczewski said.

Marczewski began her performance of her original track titled “It’s Okay,” a song that depicted the last year of her life. While auditioning with an original song can be very risky, as no one knows what kind of words or notes will come next, Marczewski was able to grab everyone’s attention with her music. The song was extremely honest and emotional.

Despite the heavy nature the song encompassed, Marczewski managed to sing with a smile on her face and showed her optimism for the future ahead. Her voice was light as a feather but still powerful. The songwriting itself was just as impressive, as Marczewski managed to put her life’s story into beautiful words and accompanied them with a gorgeous melody.

The judges were visibly moved by the performance and gave Marczewski a standing ovation. “That felt like the most authentic thing I’ve heard this season,” Mandel said. Vergara chimed in with her own words in agreement with Mandel. “It was powerful, it was heartfelt and I think you’re amazing,” she said.

“You can’t wait until life isn’t hard anymore before you decide to be happy,” Marczewski said. Despite finding her performance stunning, Cowell shocked everyone by announcing that he wasn’t going to say yes to putting Marczewski through to the next round. In a heartwarming turn of events, Cowell smashed the golden buzzer, instantly launching Marczewski into the live round of the singing competition. He then joined the emotional songstress on stage to hug her as a shower of gold confetti fell from the ceiling.
