They always say that there is some kind of an unknown tie between a positive mental attitude and recovery. It’s amazing to see how people who keep a positive outlook during their recovery process seems to bounce back from treatments like radiation faster, heal faster and often gain better prognoses than people who seem to focus on the negative elements of the situation.

Cancer is a disease that can often be a long, arduous journey with many ups and downs as far as a person’s overall health and physical condition. Jessie Rhye Recny is one cancer survivor that can’t help but give you a belief in the power of positive thinking.

She is currently in the process of fighting her second battle with cancer, a battle that no one who fought as hard as Jessie did in the first round of cancer should have to do again.

Jessie had undergone a lengthy battle with stage two breast cancer and finally learned that she was in remission in November of 2017.

According to the Daily Mail, her first diagnosis happened after she had given birth when, although she could feel something was off with her body, she attributed it to being aftereffects of the birth. Unfortunately, it was cancer.

Jessie underwent eight total rounds of chemotherapy as well as surgery before her doctors gave her the exciting news that she had beaten the disease.

She was absolutely elated to have made it through the process and wanted to find her own personal way to celebrate her victory over breast cancer. She decided to celebrate through song, something she had done in the past with other victories. Jessie went to the nurse’s station at Atlanta’s Winship Cancer Institute and sang a lovely rendition of “Amazing Grace.”

She was so overjoyed that she cried as she sang, according to her sister-in-law Amanda, Jessie’s sister-in-law.

“Jessie was overflowing with happiness and cried tears of joy as she quoted the bell quote and rang it 3 loud times for everyone to hear—the sound of hope ringing through the halls,” she told shared.com.

However, HOPE XO wrote a post on their social media page back in November announcing that Jessie's cancer had sadly returned and spread.

"Sometimes life doesn’t even let you stand back up before it knocks you down again. Yesterday Jessie got the bad news that her cancer has spread. We are rallying with her because the fight begins again! She is a fighter, she is full of faith and she will beat this cancer once and for all! Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers as she begins treatment next week. Kicking cancers butt round 2 here she comes. Keep smiling Jessie! Let’s send a lot of hope her way. xo"
