Just when you think that you have seen it all when it comes to emotional support animals, a woman boards a plane with a horse.

That is exactly what happened on a recent American Airlines flight traveling from Chicago, Illinois to Omaha, Nebraska. A miniature horse named Flirty caused a stir when it boarded the flight with its owner and sat in the cabin with the rest of the passengers. As you might imagine, many passengers immediately took to social media to post pictures of the horse on their flight.

Flirty already has thousands of followers on her Instagram page. Her owner said that Flirty is her emotional support animal because she is allergic to dogs and has instead spent years training horses.

Emotional support animals differ from trained assistance animals in the services that they provide. Support animals are intended to help people who suffer from mental health issues, such as anxiety and depression.

Although many of the passengers on Flirty's flight were shocked to see a horse on board, the act falls within the guidelines set forth by the US Department of Transportation. Airlines have the ultimate authority to decide what animals they allow on board. Some of the more unusual animals that have been seen onboard flights include ducks, turkeys, pigs, and even a kangaroo.

You simply have to see the video of a horse on a plane to believe it. What is the most unusual animal that you have seen on an airplane? After you have watched this amazing video, be sure to spread the story to everyone that you know and ask that they weigh in on their thoughts about emotional support animals on commercial flights.
