A woman had experienced an onslaught of extreme health complications in less than a day. She initially shrugged it off and believed it was due to her age. As her symptoms became worse, she wound up laying in a hospital bed with only the rest of the week to live.

In this video, you will hear an alarming story told by Cristina Ferrara, who lives in Tampa, Florida. One day, Ferrara had started to feel tired and a little lethargic as her day went on. She had just turned 30 years old last year and thought that her fatigue was just a normal sign of aging. Unbeknownst to her at the time, this was the first symptom of liver failure.

She recalls experiencing gums that bled easily when they were brushed and having unusual dark-colored urine. She ignored these symptoms as well, believing she just needed to drink more water and get a softer toothbrush.

She stated, "I thought it was just a cruel welcoming to my 30s."

Feeling depleted, she started to blame her chronic fatigue on working over 40 hours each week. She was soon downing cup after cup of coffee just to keep up with her busy work and social life.

Suddenly, Ferrara became severely jaundiced. She checked herself in a nearby hospital to get tested and her results were very devastating. She had extremely high enzyme levels, her liver was shutting down at an alarming rate and she only had until the weekend to live.

All of her severe symptoms had happened in less than 16 hours.

Doctors had explained to her that this was very uncommon and one of the most rapid cases of liver failure in history. They immediately placed her into a medically induced coma as her brain began to shut down.

She was soon placed on a high-priority list for a liver transplant in Florida, as well as internationally. The fourth available liver became a perfect match and doctors quickly set up her up for surgery. Ferrara swiftly recovered and soon regained her strength.

The once dubbed "sickest woman in America" now enjoys a healthy life. Today, Ferrara tells her story in hopes that you and others will register as organ donors and possibly save more lives.
