Woman's Dramatic Photos Of 2-Pound Loss Prove That Weight Is Only A Number

Everyone knows that when you are doing everything you can to lose weight, getting on the scale in the morning is often a real downer. You hop off of the scale, completely discouraged at your lack of weight loss, and end up eating a tub of ice cream. Why not? You worked hard to do everything right in the last few weeks, but you only ended up losing one little pound.

Here’s the thing to remember when it comes to weight loss- the scale sucks. The scale is not going to show you an accurate depiction of what you actually look like, as it really is just a number. That number has no idea how hard you have been working.

Adrienne Osuna is a fitness blogger who began her personal fitness journey in 2014. She blogged about how frustrated she would get after seeing the number on the scale barely move, even after weeks and weeks of exercising.

Recently, she had an epiphany. She realized that she should not care what one number had to say. She said that she spent most of 2015 frustrated by the numbers she saw and would often blow her diet after stepping on the scale. She also realized that she wasn’t actually trying to lose weight. No, her goal was actually to lose fat.

We have all heard that “muscle weighs more than fat.” It’s basically true, though. If you have been working out and eating healthy but haven’t seen much of a weight difference, you do not need to worry too much. The scale is not going to reflect the changes your body is going through.

Adrienne posted the photos below to her Facebook page. The one on the left was when she weighed 182 pounds. The one on the right shows her at 180 pounds, which technically isn’t much of a drop. However, you can see that she is in much better shape in her “after” picture. The difference in her body is amazing.

She pointed out that you can be several sizes smaller while still weighing close to what you did before you tried to lose weight. It happens because muscles weight is smaller and denser than fat weight.

Check out the incredible difference below:
