Woman's Below-The-Waist Hair Is Dramatically Cut In Hollywood Makeover

One lucky subscriber to YouTuber Joey Graceffa's channel had her makeover dreams come true when she was chosen to get an extreme Hollywood makeover.

25-year-old Jessica was the perfect candidate—she hadn't had her hair cut in over six years! In need of a fresh style that would match her new job promotion, Joey got to work with the help of a team of beauty and fashion professionals and gave Jessica the makeover of a lifetime.

A well-known entertainment personality who acts, sings, produces, writes, and has a thriving presence on YouTube, Joey Graceffa is a busy man with three YouTube channels and a combined total of over 2.6 billion views. As well as being a contestant on multiple seasons of The Amazing Race, Joey created and hosts the YouTube Premium series Escape the Night.

On his channel, he has all kinds of different videos, but after giving his own father a makeover, Joey was inspired to do the same for one of his subscribers. After narrowing down his selection he found the perfect candidate—a 25-year-old young woman named Jessica.

Joey explains that Jessica was studying to be a teacher for a long time but once she started working and her studies were over, she didn't have time to pamper herself. What's more, she hadn't cut her below-the-waist hair in over six years! 

After meeting with Jessica for the first time, in which her excitement yet nervousness is palpable, Joey tells her about what he has in store. First, she'll be getting her hair cut by his hairdresser, celebrity hairstylist Paul Norton, followed by having her hair colored by someone on his team. Makeup will follow that, and in the meantime, Joey would be working with a fashion stylist to prepare a few outfits for Jessica too.

First up was the haircut, which unsurprisingly with how long Jessica hadn't cut her hair, was an emotional moment. Paul explains that to get the best look they would need trust—trust in them as the professionals to do what they think would suit Jessica the most. Paul didn't play around and immediately cut off around half of Jessica's hair in one go. Parting with years of your life in one fell swoop must be hard—Jessica even began to cry a little—but shortly after she said she felt lighter having let it go. 

Next up was the color transformation. Allie Ellis was the colorist working with Paul and after discussing with Jessica and the team, she decided to go with red, as Jessica had already mentioned that it's one option she'd prefer. Allie mentioned that Jessica's natural hair color already featured a lot of rich tones, so they decided to amp up what already works on her and go with a vibrant shade of red. Makeup came next and involved a team of professionals giving Jessica a glamorous look that would complete the beauty portion of her extreme Hollywood makeover. 

Meanwhile, while Jessica was being made over in the beauty department, Joey worked with fashion stylist Daniel Preda to come up with a few different outfits that would complete Jessica's transformation. She explained that she usually wears jeans and a T-shirt for work but that she'd like to look more dressed up. Daniel focused on pieces that could transition from day-to-night, taking her from working with kids to dinner with friends or a date. All of the options looked stunning, but the team went with a spring dress as the final look, elevating Jessica's style to a grown-up level.

Finally, it was time for the big reveal—combining all of the elements of the makeover including hair, makeup, and fashion, and letting Jessica see her own transformation. When she saw herself in the mirror, Jessica couldn't believe her eyes, instantly dropping her jaw in surprise. She told Joey she loved the look and that it was "so cute." But beyond words, her attitude said it all—Jessica's demeanor after seeing her transformation was completely different than at the beginning of the video. Her newfound confidence was apparent, which she also confirmed. 

Joey's message to Jessica at the end of the video was to take time for herself and indulge in a little self-care. As a teacher of children with special needs, Jessica gives so much to others but rarely takes time for herself. If there's one takeaway from this incredible transformation, it's to make sure you give back to yourself just as you give to others.
