Woman Looks Into The Ingredients In US And UK Products, Finds Stark Differences

Oct 18, 2019 by apost team

In America, we are beginning to realize that the ingredients used in our food are not allowed in the food made in other countries.

Some American companies willingly adhere to restrictions placed on them by foreign governments, but they add the outlawed ingredients to the food that they sell to Americans. Some of these companies are Quaker, PepsiCo, Kellogg's and Kraft-Heinz, and they are adding high fructose corn syrup and other harmful ingredients to their American foods.

Food Babe is one organization that decided to find out about the differences between food sold overseas and food sold in the United States, and they discovered the following:

McDonald's French Fries

McDonald's only puts vegetable oil, dextrose and potatoes in its French fries overseas, but in America, the fries contain extra salt, soy bean oil, natural beef flavor, corn oil, canola oil and many other ingredients. Salt is only added to foreign fries after they have been cooked.

Quaker Oat Meal Packets

In foreign countries, Quaker oat meal packets contain freeze-dried fruit, sugar and oats while the American packets have citric acid, gums, artificial fruit, creaming agents and ingredients that the average person cannot pronounce. If you can't pronounce the ingredients, you know that this is a food that you need to remain as far away from as possible.

Mountain Dew

Mountain Dew isn't exactly the healthiest choice for a beverage, but if you want to drink it, you should not do so in the U.S. Mountain Dew contains high fructose corn syrup in America, and the U.K. version contains sugar. Sugar just happens to be healthier than high fructose corn syrup.

Heinz Ketchup

The ingredients in foreign ketchup are real ingredients, and they are sugar, tomatoes, spirit vinegar and salt. In America, this ketchup contains high fructose corn syrup, distilled vinegar, tomato concentrate and corn syrup.

Doritos

A telling sign is the fact that the list of ingredients for American Doritos is a lot longer than the list of ingredients for foreign Doritos. In America, Doritos contain artificial flavors, sugar and more spices, corn syrup solids, lactose, whey, corn starch, tomato powder, salt, maltodextrin, vegetable oil and corn. Overseas, Doritos have potassium chloride, sugar, glucose syrup, salt, cool original flavor, vegetable oils and corn.

Neither one has the best ingredients, but the American version, of course, is much worse. In addition to that, the dyes named in the American version are known to be carcinogens.
