In today’s modern society, there are many new ways to find love. Online dating has become extremely popular among young adults, but it is important to always meet in a public place. Bars, restaurants and coffee shops are great places to have a first date and remain in a safe environment. One woman, who was on a first date in a coffee shop, was warned by a stranger that her date had too many “red flags.”

The man who was sitting at the table behind her slipped the woman, named Hadia, a note while her date went to the bathroom. The note said she should run and be safe. After the date was over, Hadia shared the note and her story on social media in August 2020. Others are calling the stranger who passed the note a hero.

You never know when a creepy date can turn into a dangerous situation, so Hadia really appreciated the honest advice she was given. It is nice to know that there are kind people out there that are concerned for others and would take action by saying something about it. The world would be a safer place if more people were looking out for one another like this.

The story has gone viral online, with many people praising the stranger for passing the note discreetly and not causing a scene. This way, Hadia still had the initiative to decide if her date was actually showing red flags. She ultimately agreed that he was bad news. The message Hadia was given, and then shared on social media, was simple and to the point. She posted on her Twitter account: "I had coffee with a guy yesterday. When he went to the bathroom, the gay guy sitting behind me passed me this note." The note warned: "Too many red flags. Run. Be safe girl."

One person replied under Hadia’s post: "I can't help but wonder how bright red those flags were for a complete stranger to notice AND write a warning note. Big yikes."

Hadia wrote back: "As bright as my red nails.” Then she added: "It honestly wasn’t THAT bad….until after he came out the bathroom. Everything he said after the note was a major red flag." It seems the warning helped Hadia see her date more clearly, which can be difficult when first getting to know someone.

Hadia explained that one of the red flags was the date’s interest and support for Kevin Samuels, a controversial lifestyle coach on YouTube.

"Not to be dramatic but this advice could literally save your life," added another concerned Twitter user.

"I once went on a drink date and the bartender was super nice to me and kind of rude to my date. I remembered wondering if that was a red flag. Turned out it was and he was right," shared a third person.

Another person added: "Not all girls are great at picking up on the signs - I've missed a few, so to have an outsider who is objective to the scenario notice these signs. It just may have been a genuine warning." Hadia is grateful someone took the time to come to her aid in this situation.
