Woman Gives Jawdropping Performance Of Queen Classic

Public pianos seem to be popping up everywhere. Recently, Ariane Racicot performed on one in public. Her chosen piece was one of the twentieth century's most beloved song: Bohemian Rhapsody, by Queen.

This performance was given on a piano provided by the group Piano of the City, Piano of the Field. This Montreal-based arts group is dedicated to promoting the love of all things piano in the public square. They set pianos up in various venues around the city.

One Lucky Piano of the City Gets the Royal Treatmen

The pianos provided by this service group bring a lot of joy to city residents and visitors. One such piano was given the royal treatment on one sunny Montreal day. It was the lucky instrument slated for performance with a talented young artist.

According to her Facebook page, Ariane Racicot is a rising star in the local jazz piano scene. She currently studies this discipline at the University of Montreal. She is also no shrinking violet when it comes to repertoire. For her performance, Racicot chose a perennial favorite, Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. The iconic piece's composer, Freddie Mercury, was a fantastic pianist. This and his other compositions demand high levels of both skill and soul.

Just Another Piano Player

When Racicot approaches the piano, the crowd doesn't pay her much attention. After all, such public pianos are played by a variety of people. Many are children and adults who play the piano as a hobby.

However, as Racicot flawlessly plays the first few bars of this very recognizable ballad, onlookers begin to take notice. At one point, a little girl places some coins on the piano bench as a token of gratitude. As the final note rings out, the crowd erupts in thunderous applause that makes the humble musician blush.
