Woman Freaks Out Realizing Her Foster Dog Is Not Only Pregnant But About To Go Into Active Labor

When Sarah Clemons pulled the light brown Staffordshire terrier from the shelter, she was simply trying to do a good deed.

The dog, known as Tequila, needed a foster home and as a dog lover, Clemons knew she could provide it. Yet Clemons was shocked at the events that developed the night Tequila came home.

Since the shelter staff had not mentioned a possible pregnancy, Clemons had no reason to be concerned with Tequila’s odd behavior. When they entered the household and the new dog began to behave erratically, Clemons took note.

The Staffordshire terrier started panting hard and became restless. Regardless of Clemons’ encouragement, Tequila would not settle down. This is when Clemons noticed that Tequila’s teats were swollen, heavy with milk, and suddenly she realized tonight would not go as planned.

Sarah hoped for a quiet night of dinner and relaxation at home. Tequila had other ideas.

As Tequila’s labor continued, Clemons realized she had never delivered puppies before and that the night’s events may quickly get out of hand. Therefore she packed her partner and Tequila into the car to rush to the veterinarian hospital.

Once there, the staff created a comfortable birthing den for the expectant mother complete with soft blankets.

They estimated the litter size to be nine newborns, but only time would tell. Tequila eventually gave birth to four perfect pint-sized puppies. They all were brown just like their mother.

While Clemons only committed to saving one life by fostering Tequila, she ended up saving five. Three of the puppies already have adoptive homes and we are sure Clemons will find the right place for Tequila and the remaining pup.
