All of our clothes come with tags, but no one ever really reads them. Bras seem somewhat self-explanatory, but apparently lots of us are wearing them wrong.

One woman named Brittany Packnett recently shared a photo of a bra tag on Twitter and it has since gathered the attention of thousands of other women.

Brittany wrote, “I’ve been putting on my bras wrong for twenty years. You probably have, too.”

Brittany, who describes herself as an“Educator, activist and speaker,” has enlightened many of us and started a heated debate on the proper way to wear bras. When she first bought her bra and noticed the tag, she thought, "'girl bye I been doin this’ and popped on. But then I decided to read it…”

Brittany was shocked when she learned from the tag. She admitted, “And I was all wrong. I was in the middle clasp and I did *not* do proper breast placement.”

Buying the wrong size or wearing bras incorrectly can happen to every woman. Most women relish the moment they get home and can rip their bras off, but bras shouldn't be a source of extreme discomfort.

Lots of us may feel like the middle clasp is the happy medium for bras, but you're supposed to wear them on the loosest clasp when you first buy them. Over time, the bra loosens and you're supposed to tighten it to compensate for the stretching.

What happens to the bands also happens to the straps! With regular use, straps will need to be tightened to accommodate the stretched fabric to prevent sagging.

If you've never had your breasts measured by someone in a lingerie store, you should do that. Unfortunately, it's really easy to buy the wrong sizes and feel uncomfortable in your bras. Women are taught that bras are supposed to be an inconvenience, which leads to bad decisions in the store. Get a comfortable bra that fits your own measurements.

A good test for bras is by wearing a tight T-shirt. Cotton conforms to the body and if your bra doesn't fit seamlessly to your breasts, then you'll be able to see it with a shirt on. You shouldn't be able to tell that you're wearing a bra under your clothes.

Twitter users were sure to express their disbelief at these bra instructions.

Lots of women couldn't believe they should be wearing their bras on the loosest clasp or tightening the straps so often.

Women always find a way to band together.

Spread this news to all your ladies and bond over how all of you have been wearing your bras incorrectly for years.
