One Minnesota mom is giving back in the biggest way.
CNN reports that in 2016, Becca Bundy's one-year-old daughter suffered a seizure in their Bearville, Minnesota home. The terrified mother dialed 911 and waited for help to arrive.
Bill Cox, a volunteer with the Bearville Fire Department, was the first on the scene. He did his best to stabilize Becca's daughter until the paramedics arrived. Fortunately, the little girl made a full recovery thanks in part to Bill Cox.
Becca Bundy never forgot how compassionate Bill Cox was while he tended to her daughter. It was apparent that Mr. Cox truly cares about helping people. That's why Becca recognized him immediately when she saw him at a local bar.

The bar was holding a benefit, and Bill was the bartender. He was wearing a shirt that proclaimed he was in kidney failure and was desperately in need of a donor with Type O or Type B blood.
At that moment, Becca knew there was a reason she was at the benefit that night. She felt it wasn't a coincidence that she had the same blood type as the man who had saved her daughter. Becca Bundy was about to save Bill Cox's life.
Bill Cox had been wearing the same neon green shirt to work for months in the hopes of finding a potential donor. He was born with one kidney, and that kidney was failing fast. According to CNN, more than 100,000 people are waiting for a kidney at any given time. Bill knew his chances were slim, but he never gave up hope.
A few simple blood tests confirmed what Becca had known all along; she was a perfect match. She called Bill as soon as she had her results, and they both broke down into tears.
The surgery was performed at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in 2019, three years after Bill had saved Becca's daughter's life.
Both Bill and Becca made it through the surgery with no complications. Bill no longer has to undergo dialysis, and his new kidney is doing exactly what it's supposed to do.
After recovering from surgery, Bill and his wife Terry started spending time with the Bundy family. Bill even crafted a wooden angel for Becca and painted it her favorite color: bright blue. He wanted her to know that she is the angel who saved his life.
