Woman Did Not Know She Was Pregnant Until Her Newborn Splashed Into Sister-In-Law's Toilet

"I put my hand down and felt what I now know was a head." Carla Collazo had believed that she wouldn't be able to become pregnant and initially assumed that the pains that she was experiencing earlier that night were due to her getting her period. However, shockingly, she was pushing a human being out of her and into the toilet and was so confused and scared, trying to figure out what was happening.

Collazo had long wanted to be a mother, but it appeared that this dream would not be realized. Not only was she 37 years old, but she had also been diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome decades earlier and had also been attempting to get pregnant with her partner of 13 years with no baby ever resulting from that.

Heartbreakingly, she would often take pregnancy tests, hoping for the best but always having it show her the news that she didn't want to hear. Collazo had even given up on it ever happening to the point that she sold her house and moved into a smaller one as she assumed that she wouldn't need the room she wrote in Love What Matters.

However, all of that changed just two months later. It turned out that when she sold her house, she was already several months pregnant but did not know it. So, on this warm summer evening, she started bleeding and experiencing cramps and simply assumed that it was her period. Her caring partner provided her with some ginger ale and Tylenol in hopes that doing so would relieve her pain.

However, the pain intensified, and he stressed that they needed to go to a hospital. Collazo balked as she didn't have health insurance and also didn't believe that it was necessary. She convinced him to drop her off at his sister's place to reassess the situation there. A shower followed, but that didn't help. That's when she sat on the toilet and suddenly experienced even more intense pain. Next thing she knew, her water broke, but she didn't realize that's what had happened.

Suddenly, she heard the baby fall into the toilet, and her hand was covered in placenta. What was happening? It seemed like it was all a dream to Collazo, who had been fine and seemingly not even pregnant hours earlier. "She was just so precious. She was looking at me and I was looking in her eyes," the new mom said.

The baby's screaming snapped her back to attention. She received instruction from a 911 operator on how to safely retrieve it from the toilet and did so. She was then rushed to the hospital, and her partner, who had left, rushed there to meet her.

The baby, Amoura Rose, and her mother came out of the ordeal completely healthy.
