Woman Delivers Best Friend’s Baby Only To Realize Her Husband Is Actually Infant’s Dad

Getting cheated on in a relationship is devastating, but the pain is greater when the other person is your best friend. One mom of four on Tik Tok, Hailey Custer, claims she found out her husband was cheating on her with her best friend due to a rare hereditary birth defect. Custer explained that she took her friend in after she became pregnant and homeless to help her get back on her feet. Custer did everything she could to help her best friend with the baby, even being there for the delivery and giving the newborn her first bath.

It was a few days after the baby was born and Custer said she was changing her diaper when she noticed the rare birth defect on her neck. Custer explained that the birth defect is actually a piece of cartilage that sticks out from the neck, something her husband has and her own son was born with as well. When she confronted her friend about the cheating Custer claims she admitted that it was true and the baby belonged to her husband. 

After getting such hurtful news, Custer still did something incredible and let her friend stay in her house until she could afford to move out. Custer said that she wanted to look at the bigger picture and that the baby is her children’s sister so she couldn’t let her live on the streets. She said she has found forgiveness for her husband and best friend and has moved on for the sake of her own mental wellbeing and her kids.

The mother of four shared that she never suspected her husband was cheating, least of all with her best friend. “I heard rumors that my friend was pregnant and homeless, so I reached out to her. I felt the need to help her,” Custer said. “We had just got home from the hospital and I was changing the baby and when she turned her neck, the birth defect popped out. When they’re babies, it is really hard to see, and I wasn’t looking for it.”

Custer was floored when she found out the truth. She explained, “When I found out my friend was standing next to me, I looked at her and you could just tell. She couldn’t say anything, she just dropped her head and looked to the floor, and I just knew. I was in a lot of shock in the beginning. I couldn’t even process what had happened, it was almost like a stage of grief.”

It took her some time to process the news and decide how to move forward. “Like you have your shock, your anger and you come to the conclusion that this is actually real life, this is actually happening,” Custer shared.

Ultimately, Custer chose forgiveness. Even though she split up with her husband, she has moved on and forgiven both parties. She said, “For me, I was in a state of shock for a little bit. I walked outside when I first found out and just prayed. I kept hearing the words over and over in my head, ‘bigger picture.’ For me, that meant ‘Stop with your tunnel vision.’”

For the sake of her children, Custer has released her anger and even continued to help her best friend despite the betrayal.
