Woman Climbs Into Lion Exhibit At Bronx Zoo, Appears To Taunt The Animals

Police are now searching for one woman who climbed into a lion enclosure at the Bronx Zoo. Another guest filmed the female visitor as she danced in front of the lion. She was escorted off the property however police are now searching for her. 

In the video which has since gone viral, the woman is seen standing in the lion enclosure only with a thin moat separating her and the male African lion. She begins to wave to the lion as he stands defensively.

The woman who has been identified as Myah Autry begins to dance in front of the lion almost in a taunting manner. According to CBS, Autry was escorted from the Zoo after the incident occurred. However, police are now searching for her as they told the news outlets she may be facing criminal trespassing charges. 

A Bronx Zoo spokesperson said in a statement obtained by The New York Times, "Barriers and rules are in place to keep both visitors, staff and animals safe,” the statement added, "This action was a serious violation and unlawful trespass that could have resulted in serious injury or death.”
