When you are looking for a good joke, Reddit's "/r/Jokes" community is an excellent source of a chuckle. This Reddit favorite is relatable to anyone who has children, knows a child, or been a child.

The story features a grandfather's grocery shopping with a misbehaving youngster. The stores are filled with characters who make you look twice, but the most disturbing is the kids who throw mind-blowing tantrums to the embarrassment and frustration of their parents.

You know the kids. They are the ones who have grimy hands out grabbing for everything within reach and whining, screaming, and kicking when their parents tell them no.

The story goes that a woman was cruising the aisles of a local grocery store when she saw an old man shopping with a squirming child. Aisle by aisle she saw the tow-headed child go from mildly annoying to a throwing a full-blown temper tantrum despite the man's valiant attempts to soothe him. The woman saw the old man struggling to keep the misbehaving child under control. The boy begged for sweets in the candy aisle. He screamed for cookies in the cookie aisle, and the boy's antics escalated with each additional aisle.

Meanwhile, the man could be overheard saying "Take it easy, William. Not too much longer. Hang in there."

During another outburst, the woman heard the man say, "It will be okay, William. Almost done. We are leaving soon." Then in line to check out, she heard him almost chanting in the calmest voice she'd ever heard, "William, William, my boy, take it easy. There's no need to be upset. Five minutes and we are out of here. Stay cool. You can do it, William."

The woman was impressed with the old man's ability to remain calm in the face of such commotion. When she finished checking out, she was surprised to see she had parked near the man and the child. She saw the man was loading groceries into an SUV and couldn't resist speaking to the man. "Pardon me for saying, but you were beyond amazing in there. How do you do it?"She thought back to the tantrums, one after another in the store.

Some so loud that she could hear them from far away. She remembered how the man that she assumed was the child's grandfather would try to sooth the child.

"Everything is fine, William. We'll be done soon. Keep calm. It will all be fine." Even during the pinnacle of the demon child's antics when he had thrown a package of frozen peas at the cashier's head, his grandfather had kept his cool, saying, "William, enough, it's almost over. William, you can do this. Stay calm. Five minutes and we are out of here. Just five minutes."

So impressed with him, she stood in the parking lot, the melting ice cream in her bag forgotten, as she spoke to the elderly man. "I don't know how you did it. Your grandson acted so horribly and yet you remained the epitome of calm, cool, and put together. I couldn't have done it. William is a lucky, lucky young man to have a role model like you in his life."

The man looked a little confused and said, "Thank you, but my name is William." He pointed to the pouting boy still sitting in the cart. "The brat-child here is Kevin."

Can you imagine that? It is so ingrained in us to calm a disruptive child that it never occurred to the woman that the man was working hard to maintain his own behavior. Way to go, William! We wish more people were like you.
