Woman Breaks Up With 300-Year-Old 'Ghost Pirate' Husband Because She Claims He Tried To Kill Her

Amanda Teague had no idea that her marriage to Jack a 300-year-old Ghost Pirate would end with her fighting for her life. The North Ireland resident seems to have a firm head on her shoulders about dating, marrying and eventually divorcing the sailor despite the international headlines she's made.

Teague appeared on This Morning to talk about the ups and nearly fatal downs of her relationship with Jack. Before she met Jack, Teague didn't believe in any otherworldly existence.

"I had started on the road of spirituality in 2010 after my son died, before that, I didn't really believe in very much, I was kind of agnostic." However, after the passing of her son, she said she dove into spirituality which gave her evidence that there was something beyond this realm.

She first met Jack when she was meditating, she asked him to leave because he was disturbing her peace. However, Jack kept visiting her again and again. The pair eventually got to talking and then dating. Teague told Newsweek they went on romantic getaways, made love, and had arguments just like any other normal couple.

Then they wanted to take their relationship to the next level, marriage.

"We sailed into international waters so we could legally marry. It's not legal in the U.K. or Ireland to marry a deceased person, so we spoke to some lawyers and did it officially," she said.

Shortly after marrying, Teague's health began to deteriorate. "This went on for two years, my health just kept getting worse and worse and worse to the point that I ended up with sepsis.. and almost died," she said to This Morning. She discovered that Jack was the root of all her health problems.

"He was basically an energy vampire. When spirits stay around too long they need an energy source and unfortunately, Jack was using me as an energy source. He never accepted his own death so he wanted to continue living through my body," she added.

Teague was able to go to an exorcist who cast Jack from her and since the event, she has said that her health has overwhelmingly improved.

When Teague announced that she Jack had been married and now divorced, news outlets reported the story around the world,

"Wife of ghost pirate bares her soul over break-up," said Scottish newspaper the National. "Love is dead: Woman divorces 300-year-old pirate ghost husband," said Orlando television station WKMG. However, Teague doesn't let the banter get the better of her.

Talking with the Washington Post she said she knows people think she's crazy or that she has a mental disorder. But she argues that much of the world believes in unearthly, faith-based stories all of the time. She contended,

"If you believe in God or angels, if you believe in anything that's not of this earthly realm, then you believe in spirit," Ms Teague said. "So why would you find what happened to me beyond the realm of possibility?"
