Woman And Her Spaniel Push Car Along Flooded Street Ahead Of Storm Warnings

Aug 11, 2021 by apost team

Our pets will go to amazing lengths to show us how loyal they really are. A woman and her dog were captured on video pushing a stranded car out of floodwater together in Glasgow, Scotland, in early August 2021. The weather in the area has been shocking, and residents in Glasgow were taken by surprise by the rampant flooding. Commuters in London were also seen braving the rain as Britain's wet and dreary summer continues.

There are weather alerts that cover large parts of southern England, including London and the northwest, as well as Northern Ireland. A warning has been put in place for thunderstorms, with several flood warnings as well for the areas of Sussex and Kent, parts of the Isle of Wight, and on the Surrey-Hampshire border near Guildford.

The worst-hit areas should expect 70mm of rainfall, forecasters say. Gosport, in southern Hampshire, has already experienced flooding. One resident in the coastal town was seen dragging her trash can through ankle-deep floodwater that was covering the road. However, it has been projected that the miserable weather is expected to disappear soon.

In another flood story, a Springer Spaniel named Puck swam into action with his owner Lori Gillies as they tried to move a stuck vehicle down Harland Street in Glasgow. Gillies said that there were two women trapped in the vehicle, and she did not hesitate to lend a helping hand, and neither did Puck. Read on to learn more about this amazing story and how Puck really rose to the occasion.

Upon seeing people trapped by the flooding, the woman and her dog immediately began to help. Gillies told the Daily Record: "Puck and I were out on our usual walk and there was a car that was stuck in the water. There were two women inside and I went down to give them a hand. We've never really had flooding as bad as that there. Puck was just swimming next to me and I took my phone out to video him and then he started pushing it."

She continued, "Once the handbrake was off it was just a quick push or two and then it started rolling. Puck got a very nice extra big dinner last night. He got meat with gravy and biscuits with extra meat. He is 10 but he is a fit 10. We have horses so he's always on the farm and we do Munro bagging."

The group's unfortunate experience was narrated by a man who was watching them from a window nearby. He can be heard saying over the footage: "You've actually got the dog swimming now and she's trying to give it a push. She's asking 'is the handbrake off?'. Handbrakes off and now she's going to push. What is this? Think it's Volkswagen estate. Oh, the dog's pushing it now. Brilliant. There you go. Wee dog giving it a push. What a dog man. Look at that."

The video has gone viral, and many people find the situation and the commentary to be hilarious. Gillies has even seen it and said to the Daily Record, "Someone has filmed it and sent it to their pal, who sent it to my pal who sent it to me. Puck really is the best dog in the whole wide world."
