Woman Adopts Lonely Pitbull From Shelter, He Shows His Gratitude By Cuddling Her Constantly

Dogs placed in shelters usually don't get loved the way they should be. It’s heartbreaking when these dogs are euthanized. The good news is, an increasing number of animals confined to shelters are being adopted because animal advocates are helping them find good homes.

A dog named Russ was adopted by a woman named Kayla Filoon. Kayla is 20 years old. She’s a student and a volunteer who spends time walking dogs at a shelter called ACCT Philly, which stands for Animal Care and Control Team of Philadelphia. Kayla Filoon met Russ at ACCT Philly, and they fell in love.

Kayla realized right away that the two of them connected when they saw each other. A photo that was put on Facebook by Kayla's aunt shows Russ with his arms around Kayla and his head resting on her shoulder.

Russ was a homeless dog that was admitted to the shelter looking quite neglected. When Kayla saw him, she immediately fell in love with him.

The dog’s fur was falling out, and he was as thin as a rail. Kayla was sure Russ would be euthanized. After realizing this, she made the decision to become his owner.

After Kayla adopted the dog, he was extremely grateful. He is an exceptionally loving pooch. Russ felt great delight in cuddling.

To Kayla, Russ is the ideal canine. One evening when she was getting her homework done, the dog cuddled her in various ways.

The picture that was posted on Facebook by Kayla's aunt circulated the internet very rapidly. As a result, worldwide animal lovers are sending Russ much love. The six other pets Kayla owns love the dog as well.

It took a while for Russ to acclimate to his new surroundings. But a consistent flow of love and attention to his needs, along with plenty of relaxation, helped to restore him

Today Russ is content and feeling well. Kayla’s wish is that this story touches the hearts of others and encourages them to give a shelter animal a home.

We would like to see other dogs wind up as happy as Russ. Help us make it happen by passing this story around. And be sure to let us know if you would ever consider adopting a pet from a shelter.
