Willie Nelson has announced that he will be hosting a digital event called "At Home with Farm Aid" this Saturday. The online event on April 11th at 8 pm (EST) will be on AXS TV and the Farm Aid website. The live-stream concert will feature performances by Farm Aid board members such as Neil Young, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews along with Willie Nelson himself.

This concert is the second digital performance that Nelson has put-on since the Coronavirus pandemic began. All of the parties involved in this live-stream will be performing directly from their homes. According to Rolling Stone, Nelson said in a statement:

"On the Farm Aid stage last September, my friend, and fellow board member John Mellencamp said, 'Be hopeful about, have faith in and be grateful for right now; the miracle of life is in the dirt under our farmers’ fingernails.' He was right and I’m so grateful for the farmers, ranchers, and farmworkers who are on the frontlines sustaining all our communities. Now, more than ever, stay strong and positive."

The first digital performance Nelson staged was back on March 19th and was Luck Presents: "Til Further Notice" and featured performances by artists such as Paul Simon, Edie Brickell, Lucinda Williams, Neil Young, Margo Price, Randy Houser, and others.

This was one of the first-ever digital concerts to take place during the era of coronavirus and became a model for many others who have gone on to host digital performances and concerts via live-stream.

Farm Aid began back in 1985 with its first show and hasn't taken a pause since 1991. The concert usually takes place in September at an outdoor venue, but because mass gatherings will likely not be a normal occasion in time for the normal date, the group has decided to move their performances to digital platforms.

In his statement to Rolling Stone, Willie Nelson said:

“Farm Aid is working hard to support farmers and ranchers in this difficult time. We’re making emergency grants to help with household and medical expenses. We’re answering calls on our hotline. We’re creating lists of resources and working with our partners to advocate for policies that build a more resilient food system for the future.”
