For 81-year-old Mette Kvam of Aurland, Norway, she has formed a special bond with a deer after the loss of her husband. The deer  comes to visit the widow's window and she feeds the deer snacks.

According to HuffPost, the friendship began a couple of years ago when Mette noticed the stag searching for food in her yard. She offered him a cookie and he accepted.

This continued over the next few days. At one point, Mette decided her new friend was worthy of a name, which she determined would be Flippen according to Inside Edition.

Over the next few months, Flippen would return to his favorite feeding ground not once, but twice a day. Mette would greet him with his bread and off he would go until it was feeding time again. Soon, months would turn into four years of this procession happening every day.

Family friend Britt Haugsevje Vangen told Inside Edition “It seems like they are best friends, the hunters in the area have decided not to shoot him because of their friendship.”

Vangen also told Cater News, “She says that they are so lucky for having each other. Mette has no kids and since her husband passed away she has no one ― she only has Flippen in her life now.”

Eventually, the scene was caught on video by Vangen. What was very clear in the video was that a deep connection had formed between mankind and nature. However, not everyone is pleased with the relationship between Mette and the deer. Some users who saw the video were quick to bring to light the negative consequences of feeding a wild animal.

One user said, "First what happens if one day kids (grandchildren) are in the yard or something when this buck strolls up for his feeding? They can gore competition. If it starts to trust too much and get desensitized to humans,

Another user pointed out that feeding the deer bread and cookies is not good for its digestive system. "The women is destroying the animals' intestinal tract by feeding it human food, he may like it but doing more harm than good," the user said.
