Wife Gets Serenaded As Husband Sings To Her Every Day Through Retirement Home Window

Dr. John Kline, an Alabama man, has been visiting his wife Ann in a nursing home every day to speak with and serenade her. He has been able to safely see Ann in the midst of social distancing regulations because just like teenage lovebirds, he greets her through the window.

The two spouses may be kept apart with John living at home and Ann in the John Knox Manor nursing home, but it doesn't keep their connection from wavering. Ann is especially vulnerable at this time with her diagnosis of Alzheimer's, but John visits her daily for about 15 minutes to serenade her and keep her company according to KCBD.

John comes by to sing some of Ann's favorites like "When I Fall In Love," and "Amazing Grace," with a lovely baritone voice. Ann is shown smiling slightly as she hears her husband's voice through the screen door window.

John had some wise words to share when he was approached by reporters on the story.

“You know you keep going as long as you can. Perseverance and not quitting is important” said Dr. John Kline to WTWO WAWV TV.

John and Ann have been married for 45 years and are both 80 years old.
