Wife Gets Fabulous Makeover For 50th Birthday

Turning 50 can often feel quite daunting. Halfway to 100, it is a real milestone birthday. And what better way to celebrate such a milestone than by trying out a new style? Tracy Mayo from Bloomington, Indiana, decided to give being 50 and fabulous a shot. She did this by enlisting the help of The Makeover Guy.

"The Makeover Guy," real name Christopher Hopkins, 56, has been working his magic through makeovers for many years now. He is reliable and trustworthy and that's why people go to him. For this makeover, he wrote in the YouTube comments that he wasn't sure which way to go with Tracy's hair, but because the hair on her left side was so thin, he shortened it for more volume.
In terms of color, she had always been light blonde, so The Makeover Guy opted to go for a more natural dark blonde "for a more contemporary 'rooted' look."

Tracy says she has been a mom for the last 26 years, and even though she loves it, she feels everything about her has revolved around her kids. Now it's her time to shine.
In advance of the makeover, she discusses how she decided to grow her hair out to a longer length. She had originally thought The Makeover Guy would leave it like this as it was still 'new' to her, but when her fresh haircut was revealed it was much shorter. While she's had short hair before, this style was something completely different.
She talks about how her kids will be shocked at the change because it's so unexpected. Kids tend to get so used to their parents looking the same that they rarely ever see their true potential. She gushes about her husband and says he will love the look and was so supportive about the makeover as he felt it was important she had that time for herself.
When she saw her new look it was clear she was rejuvenated. Smiling, she said, "I feel younger now... and refreshed and new." In Tracy's own words: "30 is the new 50." We are sure she can't wait to go out and enjoy her new look!
