Cyril Aggett became a recluse after his wife died, then someone from a nearby school went to his house to check on him. As a result, he now eats his lunch regularly at Coombe Dean Secondary School in Plymouth in the UK.

He's No Longer Down In The Dumps

Aggett, 86, now eats his lunch four times a week at the school. He declares this stops him from being down in the dumps. Before his wife died, they would go together to the school to enjoy lunch. After she passed away six years ago, the secondary school became an important place for him to socialize. He now interacts with staff and students, as reported here in The Metro.

What Cyril Enjoys

The man now gets a cup of tea, his lunch, and good service. He says everybody talks to him. He stated, "The office staff is brilliant, and even when my wife was ill, they took dinners up to her."

The School Helps Him To Enjoy Life

Cyril said he had a period of wanting to stay in bed. He reported that he was not getting up until 2pm every day. Even though the weather was lovely, he couldn't be bothered. However, visiting the school has helped restore his love for life. He reported that, "Coming down here has brought me out of my shell again."

Life can be very lonely when you live by yourself and don't socialize with anyone. This is a message everyone should know and understand. Pass it on to anyone who might need to know they are not alone.
