Widow In Tears As She Gets Makeover Honoring Late Husband

Cheryl Millness knew this day would come. She and her husband had planned out the details, and a date was set. On the day of his upcoming chemotherapy treatment, he would drop her off at the MAKEOVERGUY Appearance Studios in Minneapolis first.

After the treatment, he would drive from the facility in Rochester and pick up his brand new queen. Unfortunately, as Cheryl's husband passed away before the date they had planned, it was not meant to be. After postponing her appointment for a year, Cheryl finally came in to have her makeover as part of a positive move forward in her life.

When Millness arrived at the studio, she met with the team to transform her look and life. They talked about hair, makeup, clothes, and other things that would contribute to the new Cheryl. When she first comes in, her brunette, short hair didn't really seem to be styled, and her grey roots were growing out.

She became emotional as she realized that her husband would not see her transformation. He wanted her to have that experience after she had shown him some before and after shots of other women. However, she knew in her heart that if she were happy with the outcome, he would be happy for her.

Before they could carry out those plans, he succumbed to cancer. In a state of grief, Cheryl postponed her planned visit for more than a year. Still hurting, she decided that it was time to start the challenging journey of moving on. It wasn't easy, but she phoned the MAKEOVERGUY Appearance Studios and set up an appointment. With that, she finally made that drive up to Minnesota to get that makeover.

"I've decided that it's time for a change," Millness says in the video. "I wish he could have been here to see me, but, here I am."

In the end, she fulfilled her husband's wish to get that new makeover. For her, it signified a fresh start. Even though her husband is gone, he will always live in her heart. But, it was time to move on. When Millness finally got to see how her makeover turned out, she was overwhelmed. Holding back tears, she says she knows her husband would have loved her new look. "He would be happy because I'm happy," she said.

For her transformation, Hopkins went for a sultry short dirty-blonde spike cut, which he poofed up with a bit of volume. Her makeup really stood out, featuring a pale pink lip, matching pink eyeshadow, and some dramatic lashes. Millness's husband would have undoubtedly been pleased with his wife's new sexy look.

"I hope this is waterproof mascara," she jokes as she collects her emotions.

Speaking of her new hairdo, Millness says she "loves" her new color, although was surprised Hopkins didn't go down the grey route. She was also delighted that her new hairstyle is one that is easily maintainable on her own. However, what she says stayed with her the most was Joanne's lessons on how to dress and make up.

"Now I know the guidelines of what to wear for my body type and my age,  and so that meant a lot to me, to learn that," Millness said.

The learning experience was interesting for her, as she says Joanne, although "critisizing" the ladies taking the class, she did it in a way that made it "seem complimentary."

Sometimes life has unexpected twists and turns, but it must go on. A year and a half after her husband's passing, Millness knew it was time to get back into the swing of things. It would not be easy. Her dear husband is gone but never forgotten. And, this makeover was the fulfillment of a dream he had for her. For Millness, starting over with a brand new look had a positive psychological effect on her and instilled in her courage to reboot her hard drive in life.

"This was just wonderful," she says with a sparkle in her eye. "We need to have a Christopher in every city in the country, and, unfortunately, there's not one."

All we can say is, we 100% agree with that statement!
