Do you find yourself waking up at the same time every night? This could be your body's way of telling you something. Based on the findings of Traditional Chinese Medicine, reoccurring sleep disorders could be caused by an imbalance in your Yin-Yang. This causes a disruption in the flow of energy throughout your body called Qi. There could also be a Qi blockage in your body due to physical ailments. The Chinese Meridian Clock could help you discover what is disrupting your sleep according to what time you wake up throughout the night.

  • Thyroid problems
  • Problems with adrenal glands
  • Metabolic issues

Waking up at this time of night could be a sign of an issue with your gallbladder. This could be because of gallstones or simply an excessive amount of unhealthy fats in your system. This could be improved by decreasing the amount of fat you eat throughout the day or eating healthier fatty foods. The gallbladder is also said to be associated with poor self-esteem and resentment. You want to make sure you are working on self-acceptance and letting go of the resentments you have. Positive thinking could help lead you to a better night's sleep.

During this time of night, your body is clearing itself of toxins. If you have trouble sleeping at this time, your body has too many toxins. Your liver is in overdrive during this time, causing you to wake up. Cutting out alcohol and caffeine along with increasing your water intake could help solve this problem. Waking up at this specific time could also mean you are holding on to unresolved issues of anger, guilt, and rage. Resolving these issues and working on letting these feelings go could help improve your sleep.

Having problems with your lungs is associated with this time of night into the early morning. Your lungs are working on transporting oxygen throughout your body and preparing you for a new day. If you wake up during this time coughing, wheezing, or having trouble breathing, you may have an issue with excessive mucus or a poor diet. In addition, this time of night is also associated with feelings of grief and sadness. Breathing exercises could help improve your sleep.

During this early time in the morning, the flow of energy is most concentrated in your large intestine. Weight gain and constipation could be an issue for you. Make sure to drink plenty of water and get to the bathroom as soon as you wake up. Problems sleeping in the early morning could also point to an emotional blockage. This includes the feeling of being stuck in your life. Finding a way to move on and get passed this blockage is key in helping improve your sleep.
