On Jan. 22, 2025, “The View” host Whoopi Goldberg made a striking entrance at the AMI - Alexandre Mattiussi Menswear Fall-Winter 2025/2026 runway show during Paris Fashion Week. She donned a floor-length satin trench coat, cinched at the waist with a belt and adorned with subtle gold detailing. The actress and TV personality turned heads in her all-black look and noticeably slimmer figure.
Her sleek ensemble was completed with black-heeled boots and a small, black handbag featuring a gold heart emblem. Goldberg’s signature glasses and dreadlocks added an effortlessly chic touch to her overall look. She chatted with Interview Magazine’s editor-in-chief, stylist Mel Ottenberg, during the show.
Goldberg revealed insights about the outfit AMI sent her: “The shoes are a little adult for me because I don’t normally do this, and they put me in stockings because the dress has a slit. But I’m so glad that they did it. They said, ‘Come be with us.’ I was like, ‘Okay.’”
She even joked about leaving her host duties at “The View” to attend the show, assuring the viewers that she will “be back.” Goldberg’s collaboration with AMI dates back to Nov. 13, 2024, when she took center stage in the brand’s Fall-Winter 2024 campaign, as highlighted in a YouTube video captioned: “Friend of the House Whoopi Goldberg stars in our new Fall-Winter 2024 Campaign.”
On the same day, an Instagram post from Goldberg highlighted her eagerness for the collaboration as she wrote: “Tried something new lately and shot this campaign with @amiparis. It was so fun #AmiParis #AmiFW24 @alexandremattiussi9 @rahimfortune.”

On Nov. 17, 2024, Goldberg was featured in an Instagram video with AMI where she humorously asked:
“Who wants a cold croissant?”
In the post, Goldberg wore a camel-colored trench coat with luxurious faux fur sleeves and striking gold buttons.
The Emmy Award-winner’s Paris Fashion Week 2025 appearance came after she candidly discussed her weight loss struggles in a March 2024 episode of “The View.” Goldberg opened up about weighing nearly 300 pounds on the set of the 2022 movie “Till.”
“One of the things that’s helped me drop the weight is (type 2 diabetes medication) Mounjaro, that’s what I use,” she said, adding that she has always approached weight fluctuations with self-confidence.
Goldberg continued:
“My weight has gone and come and gone and up and down, but it’s never been an issue for me because I don’t listen to what other people say about me, so it has never been a problem.”
The TV personality also preached body positivity and self-acceptance, saying:
“The key is to stop judging everyone for their bodies.”
Goldberg’s transformation sparked a wave of reactions on Facebook, with one user saying, “she lost weight,” while another commented, “Wow she lost weight.”
