Whitney Houston Hologram Concert To Debut In Las Vegas In October

Jul 28, 2021 by apost team

Whitney Houston is sure to go down in history as one of the best female vocalists to have ever existed. Her voice was strong, powerful, and incredibly emotional, and it seemed like there was no note she couldn’t hit. On top of having one of the best and most versatile voices, Houston was a commercial and critical success. She sold millions of albums worldwide and put on unbelievable live performances. Her rise to fame made her a role model for many, and she went on to inspire others with her vocal techniques, charming personality, and her hard work ethic.

Although Houston died in February 2012, her legacy has continued to live on through her family and music. Many people who were unable to witness the star’s stage presence in person were given a second chance when An Evening With Whitney: The Whitney Houston Hologram Tour began. A hologram version of the talented woman was projected in front of audiences on stage and sang and danced just like Houston would have.

Some people had issues with the use of a hologram as well as the overall production of the show, while many others were excited to finally get to see their favorite artist perform. However, much of the tour was canceled. In October 2021, a new version of the tour is scheduled to begin and hold residency in Las Vegas, with brand new graphics and hopes of fixing any complications from the previous version of the tour. The concert is set to be an unforgettable way to witness the late singer.

The Legacy Of Whitney Houston

Houston will undoubtedly go down in legacy as one of the best female vocalists of all time. Some of Houston’s most iconic songs were “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me),” “Where Do Broken Hearts Go,” and “I Will Always Love You.” Having extreme control over her voice, Houston emoted her words beautifully through each and every song. She commanded the stage each time she stepped foot on one and often would close her eyes as she got lost in the melody of the song.

While Houston’s voice was one of her most iconic talents, the singer was also known for being an actress and a film producer. She starred in the 1992 movie “The Bodyguard,” which featured the Grammy Award-winning song “I Have Nothing,” performed by Houston herself. She was also an actress in the 1997 film “Cinderella.” On top of this, Houston worked as a producer on a number of films, including “The Cheetah Girls,” “The Cheetah Girls 2,” “The Princess Diaries,” and “The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement.”

An Evening With Whitney: The Whitney Houston Hologram Concert is scheduled to begin on Oct. 26, 2021. The show will feature a holographic projection of the late singer, along with plenty of special effects. The tour is an opportunity for fans to see their favorite artist in person, even if it is through a hologram. Entertainment Weekly reported that the concert will feature the holographic version of Houston performing alongside a live band, backup singers, and dancers, as well as “cinematic special effects.”

Revamping The Hologram Tour

Despite having previously done a hologram tour of Houston, the show’s producers had a lot to work on based on past reviews. Reviewing the 2020 version of the tour, Emma Madden called the tour “a successful misremembering of the late Grammy winner.” Madden also described the graphics, one of the most critical parts of the show, as “tacky and outdated.”

The upcoming tour is being set up by visual effects company BASE Hologram. Brain Becker, the CEO of the company, talked about how excited he was to put on the tour. “Whitney Houston was a talent beyond words, and her influence and artistry transcended all boundaries,” he said. “What we are creating here is a new theatrical concert experience designed to capture that magic.” Becker also promised to bring Houston’s “unmatched level of charisma and emotion” to the hologram tour.

Houston’s sister-in-law and CEO of her estate, Pat Houston, recently talked about her thoughts on the upcoming tour. “In 2011, Whitney and I discussed her idea of an intimate, unplugged concert tour,” she said. “It was a project we called Whitney Unplugged or An Evening With Whitney.” Pat continued, “While Whitney’s no longer with us, her voice and legacy will live on with us forever. An Evening With Whitney is another chance for us to relive and celebrate the talent that we were so lucky to receive for more than three decades, and we’re excited to bring this cutting-edge musical experience to the fans who supported the pop culture phenomenon that was Whitney Houston, because they deserve nothing less.”

Tickets for An Evening With Whitney: The Whitney Houston Hologram Tour went on sale July 23, 2021, and plenty of tickets are currently still available.
