Oct 14, 2022 by apost team

The royals are known for their public engagements, charitable works and incredible sense of style. One thing that may sometimes be overlooked is their lives as normal mothers and fathers. The royal family is quite large. The late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip had four children together, eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Most people are familiar with Prince William and Prince Harry, as well as their wives and children. However, there are many other members of the family, with several new additions in just the past couple of years.

Whether it is a hug or another gesture of love, it is so nice to see the happy moments between royal parents and their children. It is something that makes the royals seem accessible to us and shows their soft and gentle side. It is a reminder that even royal family members are just people and that they want to spend time with their families like anyone else.

With so much time spent in the public eye, there have been plenty of adorable captured moments between these family members, seeing just how much they’ve changed as time has gone on. Though they work to keep their lives private, there are plenty of special occasions when we get the chance to see the families interact.

And while the British royal family has the world at their fingertips with plenty of wealth and status, the family members are still largely committed to education. Despite having all of this money and power at their disposal, many family members have continued to work hard in school to better themselves.

Here are a few educational highlights of some of the most famous members of the royal family:

King Charles III

The King of England attended the Gordonstoun School in Moray, Scotland, achieving five O-levels. He also earned two A-levels with his B in history class and a C in French class. After his time at Gordonstoun School, Charles went on to earn a 2:2 degree in history from the well-respected Cambridge University.

According to Royal UKCharles has also worked closely with several organizations that support the arts and education, showing that his commitment to school is still going strong.

King Charles III has two younger brothers named Edward and Andrew. Both of these princes also attended the Gordonstoun School. Andrew achieved six O-levels along with A-level achievements in the subjects of English, history and politics.

Not to be outdone by his brothers, Prince Edward earned a whopping nine O-levels and three A-levels in English, history and politics.

Charles’ sister Princess Anne is also an accomplished scholar, earning six O-levels and three A-levels in English, history and politics while attending the Benenden School in Kent. The school is known for being one of the leading independent schools for girls in the UK. However, she chose not to attend university, as she didn’t see a “very good reason to go,” according to Cosmopolitan.

William, the son of King Charles III, took a different path, choosing to attend Eton College. While there, the king-in-waiting earned an A in geography and a B in art. Biology was not his strongest subject, only earning a C.

According to Reuters, the Prince of Wales led a relatively private life during his studies as he was able to walk around the local area “without being bothered.” He was very studious and social, often being spotted in the library or out with friends.

Prince Harry

William's younger brother followed in his footsteps by attending Eton College. The academic results of Harry were more mixed, as he earned a B in art but only a D in geography. And according to Cosmopolitan, the Duke of Sussex did not attend university afterward. Instead, after his schooling, Harry went on to serve his country for 10 years in the British Army.

Still, Harry’s dad praised his achievements. “I am very proud of Harry,” Charles said. “He has worked hard for these examinations and I am very pleased with today’s results.”

Even though William and Charles had furthered their education, Harry chose a similar path to his late mother, Princess Diana. She failed her O-levels just a year before marrying Charles. As a mom, Diana wanted her kids to have a normal upbringing, making William and Harry the first royals to be educated in the public school system.

The wife of Prince William earned A's in art and math while attending Marlborough College in Wiltshire. She then went on to attend St. Andrews, which is where she met her husband. The school was thrilled, as the town of St. Andrews gathered in April 2011 to celebrate the Prince and Princess of Wales’ marriage, according to St. Andrews News.

And in 2012, the BBC reported that Kate visited the old prep school, where she was kindly greeted by staff and students. Nowadays, Kate is dedicated to helping young children thrive and finding the best ways to ensure they embark on a successful path.

Because she is an American, Meghan had a different educational upbringing than the rest of the royal family. She graduated from Immaculate Heart High School in Los Angeles, California, before going on to attend university. The former working Duchess of Sussex graduated in 2003 from Northwestern University in the Chicago area with a double major degree in theater and international relations.

One of Meghan’s former teachers, Maria Pollia, had nothing but wonderful praises to say about her and her relationship with Harry. Pollia said:

“I know Meghan. And I know that she is someone who is a very unique individual who has the depth, and the intelligence and the focus, but also the joy to be a wonderful companion for him and for them to be companions to each other in what is probably a very stressful way of life.”

Prince Andrew's youngest daughter, Princess Eugenie, is also a scholar, achieving two A’s in art and English literature as well as a B in history of art. She eventually attended Newcastle University, studying English literature, history of art, and politics.
